is there any point in trying to release a bit more poke out of one of these lookin to get above the 100bhp mark, or would it be easyer to just drop in a 2ltr?

Depends how much you want to spend and how much more power you want.

there standard around 90bhp but im guessing with age its got about 60 now, im not the normaly chave try to get something that the car will never be, just looking to make it a bit more nippy round town and depending on how fun it is may even track it

Alright buddy. You are far better off dropping in a 2.0 litre. The 1.6 is severly restricted by the tiny valves. Is very hard to get much more power out of it without spending major money. Have a look at www.fiesta-si.com/forum Loads of info there about the 2.0 litre conversion. HTH Fletch.
