If that is your best on motorways, then either there is something not quite right... Or you must drive hard!!!
I used to get that with 70% town driving.
You should be seeing 450, if not close to 500 at 80 on the motorways.
It was the only car I have owned so far that genuinely got above 50mpg most of the time.

Mine was a 1999 Focus CL TD
i live a mile outside of town and im always in the town. im on motorway probably 2 or 3 times a month so i think its the city centre driving thats killing it. iv owned the car about 6 weeks and iv been getting more and more miles out of each tank. first it was about 280 then 300 then 350. just got 400 out of my last tank as i used to drive it quite hard but now iv calmed down which has proven good.
