Hi guys!My mate has an 04 fiesta finesse. He wants to put his baby seat in the front so needs to turn off the passenger air bag for a few days. Were both sort of half mechanics, but dispite knowing what were lookin for neiher of us can find the switch to tunr it off. Firstly is there one?Or does it have to be done with an OBD tool? Secondly if it has to go into a dealership just for this, will they charge him a fortune or is it more likely to be a flat rate for the job? Is there any other ways of turning it off?

Cheers dudes

There no switch to turn it off, could try pulling the fuse but then will lose all the saftey (pretensioner etc)but imho better off putting baby in back not worth taking a chance.

The Ford owners books will tell you the safest place is in the rear and i would stick with that ,
if you disable the airbags and other safety systems and even though theres a minimal chance it would happen and he crashes and either he or the baby is seriously injured or killed who would take the blame for non inflating airbags ?

Ford do a retrofit airbag switch for the c-max and most of the new cars but you have to pay for it , and for something thats fitted to most cars as standard its pretty damn tight of fo mo co to not include it .
