Hi,

First thing is to locate your OBD II port in your car - it's usually located on the drivers side on the lower portion of the dashboard. Then just plug in the Bluefin and follow the on-screen instructions to install - very simple. Did you buy it second hand? If so, check that the seller had the unit reset before selling to you because once a Bluefin unit has been installed on one vehicle it needs resetting before it can be used on another.

thanks for that mate, the confusing thing was the computer bit after the uploading into the car has been done. i couldn't understand why it was neccssary, is it just to validate the warranty for the bluefin or to get the original settings for the car? i have spoken to other people who have chipped their car and they have said they didn't go anywhere near a computer!

It's been a while since I've used one - but you should be able to use them straight out the box, but I think the new ones also allow you to update the map version via the internet.

So, has the Bluefin worked? What car (again)?

As you say, I think the connecting to a computer part is just to register the unit or save your original map. If you connect your Bluefin unit to the car it will tell you whether Bluefin or the original map is installed. Then all you need to do is go out and enjoy!

Don't! Start the car when the unit is either loading bluefin or resetting back to the orginal map.
If you do..........Dead car.
