Hi

I recently bought a Mondeo with the 6cd in-dash changer.

The problem is that the cd function keeps throwing up an error code, ER 4.

I've tried about 25 cd's, mostly genuine cd's, not cdrs and it still throws the error up.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, is there an ipod adaptor available for this unit which allows fast fwd/next track type functionality from the steering wheel controls?

Thanks

Error code 4 = disc upside down or dirty. Have you tried a lens cleaning disc ?

Hi mate, thanks for the reply, do the lens cleaning discs really work, i'll give one a go when i can get hold of one.

I've had a quick look on ebay and the unit's available 2nd hand for about £120, problem is i could just end up with a stereoin the same state as mine!

Thanks

I started getting code 3 on mine, but after using a Philips lens cleaner (place it in every slot one after the other)it has been fine, and my discs are spotless.

That's interesting. Error 3 is meant to be related to the loading due to the size of discs and primarily an issue with CDRs, etc.

I have had the Error 3 before but always managed to get the unit fixed by removing the power from it as it resets itself. Will try a lens cleaning disc though as i've had the car for 5 years and listened to hours worth of music and never cleaned it.

Cheers

Just a word of warning on the lens cleaning disc, i tried a Philips CD lens cleaner by loading it as disc one, when i go to eject cd 1 it says theres no disc in slot one.

Anyone got any ideas how i can get the disc out?

Does removing the power from the unit reset the unit?

Thanks

Try pressing load and eject at the smae time whilst powering the unit up.
