The wifes Fiesta has recently developed a mind of its own with regards to cabin temperature.

If the temperature is turned down to minimum and the fan turned on whilst the car is stationary, you get outside (cold) air as expected. If the car is then driven, the air coming into the cabin gets very hot and no amount of knob twiddling will cool it down.

If the air con is switched on, it makes no difference, same result as above except the air is very cold when the car is stationary.

I think this might be a problem with the air diverter but can't think what would be causing it.. Any ideas? It looks like a sod to get to as well, any tips much appreciated!!

Thanks

Steve

If this is the climate control there's a way of doing a self test and reset... I can't remember how but googling should find it. I did this on our 2000 mondeo when it started going mental and it sorted itself out.

Nothing as complicated as climate control fortunately - its got manual controls for fan speed, temperature and 'vent / feet / windscreen' directionality.
