Focus 1.6 tappet noise?

Hi guys,

I'm driving 'the birds' Focus Estate 1.6 to work at the mo as I got fed up with the 2 MPG I was getting from mine through London.

I noticed it's really tappy sounding - you know the sort of: tick tick tick that gets worse with RPMs. Seems to drive ok but something is obviously not 100% with it..
Any ideas out there? Its old and crappy so I'm not going to spend a fortune on it
