NEW CAR - FOCUS STYLE OR VW GOLF MATCH - PLEASE HELP?????
Discussion
Hi all
Just about to order my new company car for oct 08 delivery and i cant choose which to go for, so could do with your views. By the way i already drive a mk5 golf tdi S
I have a choice of:-
brand new model
good extras
slightly cheaoer than the golf so my compnay car tax will be marginally less
looks ok
BAD POINTS
no long term testing as yet
not enough interior storage vs the golf
no arm rest
i know i will be comfy in it
good storage bins etc
like where i go to get it serviced
full of extra the focus dont have - cruise control, ipod connection, 12v connector in boot (very handy) 4 electric windows, arm rest
BAD POINTS
will be the old model by feb 2009
its basically the same car to live with for 3 years i already have
no long term testing on the bluemotion engines
JUST ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY RECIEVED

Problem looks to be that you only have a choice over the basic models, mainly due to the CO2 emissions i'd guess?...
Naturally if it was based on the cost of the cars, i'm sure you could get a better spec'd focus and have the bits the basic model is missing.
The main bad points of the focus seem to be purely due to its spec level and i don't think you're able to do anything about that if i'm right about it coming down to cars in a certain emissions bracket?
If you don't want to run the Golf for another few years, are there any other alternatives to these 2? If not, it looks like you're better off sticking with the Golf.
