Fiesta Central Locking & Air con probs
Discussion
G/f has an 00/X fiesta, got a couple of niggling problems.
First one I think is probably obvious - air con works, but it apparently smells when first switched on. I'd figure that the pollen filter has probably never been changed, and that the whole system needs a good clean (one of those cans you let off in the car with the air con on full recirculate).
The central locking I'm not sure though - it works, but you can only open the car from the passenger side. Any suggestions as to what the fault could be on the drivers side before I start hacking her car apart?

Possibly a switch in the drivers door? If its similar to a Mondeo's central locking of a similar age then there will be a white module about the size of your hand mounted in the door, which contains the various switches and solenoids to lock and unlock the door or detect what you're doing with the key. I've had two of these fail due to a small switch in there breaking.

Cool, ta. I'll have a look over the next few days, should be able to pick up the parts from a scrap yard for pennies.Gassing Station | Ford | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
