Escort rst s2 cutting out

Keeping it brief as the posts in another part of the forum. My S2 is cutting out when it goes to idleing revs (after a run) or approx 1 minute after start up. Its an F plate. I was told to use 95 ron unleaded which i have for the past 2 weeks (since ive had the car). Car runs sweet otherwise.

Ive lubed the dump valve and checked all the wiring, hoses etc.

Other suggestion i had was to add some lead replacement to the fuel mix??

Any suggestions appreciated as i dont know much about these cars yet.

Ps if it helps i put fuel in yesterday and oil 0w/40, never over filled, dont know if its coincedence that its just started doing it since then.

Problem solved. Sounds stupid but if anyone else has the above problem........check your dipsticks in properly!!

get rid of the 0/40 oil it is to thin for the car go over to mobil 1 motorsport minimum you want is 5/40 to a 10/60 nothing less otherwise it will rattle like a ballbearing in a biscuit tin
