whinning focus 1.8
Discussion
my 2005 1.8 focus-last of the old shape- is very noisey.at low speeds there is lots of whinning and rumbling-it does not sound like tyre noise,it sounds like its more from the engine/transmission area.has anyone got any ideas what it could be-it was only serviced last month and mot'd in march.cheers
hi had it in dagenham motors at stamford hill today.its wheel bearings and something else all around-did not get what else it was as i was sinking backwards at the time, they want £932 to fix it!! luckerly aa warrenties is picking up a large part of the bill.but only after loads of calls and arguments, after the garage tod them that you cant have 17 inch wheels on a focus as they are to big.i told them to look in the handbook to see what wheels are listed.it had factory fitted mub flaps as well which they also said were rubbing on the tyre-but only if you took out the large gap between tyre and bodywork
hi i spoke to aa yesterday they are only paying £185 towards the cost-not certain why yet.i'm a bit miffed that these parts would fail after only 31k.i find it a bit odd about the wheels as well.not certain if just bad ford mechanic or trying get out of paying,by saying 17 inch wheels are too big for the car-when they are listed as optional extras.do you think i would get any joy by seeing if ford would pay towards the cost.does anyone have any ideas at all
