Fiesta over revving

Hi i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what was wrong with my car.
every time i go down gears, when the clutch pedal is down, the car revs a lot.
i can also start my car moving without pressing the accelerator. please help!!!

Sounds like the idle control valve sticking. Normally cured with a clean out which engine does it have in it ??

Seconded. I had a similar problem on my focus. Took the idle control valve off and soaked it in carb cleaner for an hour or two. Car has been running fine ever since. It shoundn't be an expensive fix (a garage should charge you no more than £30-£40 if you don't fancy trying the work yourself) and this should be your first port of call. Good luck

It is almost 100% the Idle control valve as the other bloke said. I did mine 2 weeks ago
