Not at all, the ST220 and the 2.5T later variant are a close call, that`s what I was getting at. Nothing personal. I had the same choice 2 years back. Tried both. Bought the ST220. On boost the turbo did feel a bit more sprightly but according to the speedo it wasn`t really. The overall feel and sound of the V6 done it for me and it was the right choice. Underrated and the fuss free way they go about their business makes for a deceptively quick car.Shouldn`t have sold it.

Im thinking of selling my ST220 Estate and was wondering on price - Im not a member of any ST clubs so have no idea how to price it
Its a July 2004 car so only £290 tax Dark Blue Black leather Interior
only 59,000 miles - Immaculate
just had 4 new tyres / Service/ MOT 12 months
had new discs/calipers/brake pads / smoked headlights- have the clear ones
any ideas on price ?

I bought my 2004 60,000 mile ST220 estate 2 years ago, at £3100.Its a July 2004 car so only £290 tax Dark Blue Black leather Interior
only 59,000 miles - Immaculate
just had 4 new tyres / Service/ MOT 12 months
had new discs/calipers/brake pads / smoked headlights- have the clear ones
any ideas on price ?

Your's is the same basically, except 2 years older at time of purchase. £2800? I'd probably advertise at £2999 and hope to get anything over £2700

I sold my 2004 with about 115,000 miles in September last year for £2,250. So I'd say nearer £3k for one with half the miles and good condition (if "immaculate" really does mean immaculate) isn't too unrealistic.

Get rid of the smoked lenses as they shout boy racer or bodge modified. Many buyers want an original unmolested car as they know what they are getting, and shouldn't find any hidden surprises.
How immaculate is your immaculate 220?. Mine has now done 67000 and is far from immaculate even though it's in far better condition than most 220s I've seen.
This is mine:
In the last year it's had: new rims, new rear bumper, front bumper and grill respray, new stainless exhaust, new mats, all over pointless dnt removal for tiny dents, new steering wheel, new hand brake cover, new door pulls, it's been mopped, new head unit, new rear reflectors, new clutch DMF and slave etc etc, but it's still not immaculate.
Just go careful with using immaculate as if a buyer turns up and it's not, then they have more to knock down your price with.
Have a good look at the drivers seat bolster too, if that's worn or has colour missing it's either time to dye it before the sale or declare it.
Also, make the most of any factory extras your car has. Does it have xenon lights, sat nav, sunroof, heated rear seats, mobile phone pack, sill plates, rear stereo kit, full sized spare tyre, alloy pedal covers ? It's even worth mentioning things like all the jacking point covers are in place and secure, as many cars have one or two missing.

I got sick of seeing 'fully loaded' when looking for mine. I wanted a red interior in the best possible condition and was looking for several months. That meant I saw fully loaded lots and lots of times.
In the end, I'd read fully loaded and the car would be the lowest spec, so I'd send an email asking about the: heated rear seats, xenons, sunroof, sat nav, alcantara, rear entertainment system, headrest screens, privacy glass etc.
The most annoying car was one that was partly my fault for bothering to see. It was 150 miles away and was immaculate. When I got to see it I suddenly realised that although the ad pics were taken from four different angles they cleverly 'forgot' to show a huge dent in the drivers door. While I could replace a door for £50 I lost confidence in the car and walked away.

The 220 is a nice drive, and many owners cherish them as I'm sure you know.
The reason I mentioned the smoked lenses is that I'm also aware that these motors are all old now and getting cheaper and cheaper, which allows boy racers to get them and ruin them (each to their own taste, but ruined IMHO lol).
Smoked lenses can be superbly done and look smart, but can also cunjure up this image:

I was browsing eBay today looking for some parts and came across several 'fully loaded' ST's
This listing: 221854542144
Is for a fully loaded ST. It's list of extras basically quote the minimum spec, but also adds the car has factory xenons, which certainly aren't visible in any of the pics

Ok, so mine's let me down.
Well, not really to be honest - it's still a cracking car, but I have cracked a spring on the front off side.
So, do I replace with standard? Should I stick a set of Eibach lowering springs on for £200 (without touching the dampers?) Or go for coilovers at around £600? I'll be doing the work myself (geometry aside).
For reference, the car is used everyday around town, plus around 1000 miles per month business. It has 120,000 on the clock, but well serviced...
