Just buy one, knock the flat on the head & buy one wink They are getting cheap now, just found a 54 with every option for near £5k, if it checks out will take a look. Two 220's, am I mad?! Even the Mrs has come around to the idea though, IIRC a 54 will be cheap tax too smile

hi, is this the place to ask about tdci st models, or are they frowned upon in this thread?

i am thinking of switching over from my laguna...

is there anyone with experience of remapping the 2.2?

are there many variances in years, or are they are all the same over their production run?

mrs dibbers has a keyless focus, is this something available on the mondeo, if searched hard enough?

does the touchscreen nav incorporate a phone facility?

thanks in advance...

Not sure about the other questions, but the phone facility depends on the model year and the options. My head unit has a phone button, but all it does is mutes the stereo. I don't think it can be retrofitted.

http://www.stdrivers.co.uk/ and http://www.fordmondeo.org/ are a good place to ask about the Mondeo in its various guises

The bluetooth was an option with voice control, mine has it. If the car has it pressing the end of the stalk near the steering wheel will cause a "command please!" prompt from the speakers.

How does the ST220 compare to the 330Ci? That's another car that I'm looking at.
Plenty of willy-waving threads about on that subject.

Think the OP who asked in genuine curioisty was a_bread
That's right. They are quite comparable in some ways. I chose between them nearly 2 years ago now and bought the 330ci Sport although I'm aware I could have saved money by buying the ST220.

I found in a test drive situation the 330 definitely felt quicker but that is probably partly a result of the performance being more widely available across the revs rather than skewed towards the top.

I bought the 330 as it has a slightly better balanced, better-weighted quality feel, and I love the straight six sound, but there isn't a great big difference dynamically that some people might expect. The 330 has a smoother engine. I actually think the Ford is good looking, especially as a saloon. A coupe st220 could have been a stunner.

I still love my ST220, despite replacing it with this today...

I am going to run both for a month or two and see how I get on.

With luck I'll be viewing my second 220 this weekend, fully loaded 54 plate with 60k on the clock. Hope it's worth the trip but at least I have an excuse to have a nice drive through Wales in the 220 smile Later tax £245, is that right? BTW, has anyone ever cpome across an ST without the ST badge on the steering wheel? I know Ford build is sometimes not the best, just hoping it hasn't had a new airbag!!!

The highest rates of Vehicle Excise Duty that can apply to vehicles manufactured before 23 March 2006 (and post 1 Mar 2001) is Band K. How long this immunity will last is anyone's guess, but it should give us another good 12 months.

A dealer offered me £4000 trade in for mine today against an S4 Avant. Needless to say I didn't take up his offer. Values of ST220s seem to be all over the place at the moment. The prices for ST220s of similar age seem to mine vary wildly, anywhere between £4000 and £7500. which is quite a range really.

Still thinking of selling mine, but finding something nice to replace it with, that won't cost a fortune, is proving to be difficult.
