Shame the guy at the garage got to drive it before you matey.

Looking forward to seeing it back with you though and hope it isn't too long before its your turn to drive! That'll be a bloody satisfying experience. driving

IT PASSED, IT PASSED, IT PASSED!

The MOT that is.....

Had a call from the garage to say that it flew through the MOT with no problems what so ever!

I am picking it up on Monday so will tax it at the same time.

There are some small jobs to finish when I get it back inc a Ford badge for the bonnet, drivers door card fitting properly,, get a new VIN plate and a few other jobs.

I will then get the tracking done and run it for a week or two before getting it set up properly some where like Power Engineering.

As soon as I get the above small jobs done next week I will give it a proper clean and polish and get some finished pictures up! It is dirty as it has been sat outside at the garage for a few weeks.

Cheers

Can't say I'd be pleased at the garage storing it outside

Amazing.
It is a credit to you. What a feeling to stand back and say " I did that "

The only thing is I would not want to use it for fear of it getting dirty or blemished.
Well done matey. Top job.

Thank you.

Well this morning I drove to Power Engineering in Uxbridge for it to be set up on a rolling road.
I met the technician called Ian and stood back whilst he worked his magic!
I knew the mixture was well out so this was attended to as well as adjustments to the fuel pressure and actuator load etc were made.

After an hour on the dyno it was running much better; much smoother and the results are good to.
Ford quoted circa 130bhp as standard so I knew 20+ years would mean the loss of some horses but we still managed 124.6!

It drove much better on the way home so I am very pleased.

There are a couple small jobs that I will sort over the next week or so before I get some finished pictres up!

The guys at Power Enginnering were superb; a real professional outfit with a passion and knowledge to match!

That is an incredbile build mate, really hope you are chuffed with the results, certainly looks like you should be!

Its nice to see someone getting so much support of the PH community as well!

Would defo like to see this car in the flesh. Are you planning on going to any shows?

Thanks mate!
I have never been into the whole car show thing to be honest.

I am still not sure what I am going to do with it as I will be starting my next project in the next couple of weeks; a mk1 Golf GTi.
I will run a similar thread to this in the VW forum.

If someone wants the Fiesta and they offer a fair price I would be very tempted to sell to make room for the Golf.

Thats fair enough smile

You must be mad to sell it so soon! I would put in an offer but I doubt my budget will stretch right now, looking forward to the mk1 build though, very cool car! You will probably find it a bit easier going sourcing parts than the fiesta!

I'll look forward to the Golf restoration. If it's half as good as this one, it'll be getting bookmarked as a must follow. wink

Very generous,thank you!

Will be in touch if I need it. The general idea is to collect the shell I have purchased in the next couple of weeks. I will then paint the shell in its original colour of white.

I will then buy a mk1 Golf Gti with a rotten shell and strip the parts from the donor car onto the refurbished shell renewing or refurbishing parts as I go.

Cheers

I spent some time on a MK1 GTI basically undoing a lot of mods which the previous owner thought were AWESOME!

I bought:-
P Slots
MK1 Campaign interior in Green/Black
2nd hand dx engine

I left the following mods on it:-

single wiper conversion
5 Bar grille from Mk2
Smoothed tailgate
MK2 chin spoiler
Spax adjustables all round
cross drilled and grooved discs
Stainless exhaust

When I sold it it looked like this

Then my mate bought it from me and lost his licence in it

SO he sold it to his mate who couldnt drive who promptly did this to it within a week :-

by lift off oversteering into a ditch and rolling it along a fence line - rather him than me!
