I spent some time on a MK1 GTI basically undoing a lot of mods which the previous owner thought were AWESOME!
I bought:-
P Slots
MK1 Campaign interior in Green/Black
2nd hand dx engine
I left the following mods on it:-
single wiper conversion
5 Bar grille from Mk2
Smoothed tailgate
MK2 chin spoiler
Spax adjustables all round
cross drilled and grooved discs
Stainless exhaust
When I sold it it looked like this
Then my mate bought it from me and lost his licence in it
SO he sold it to his mate who couldnt drive who promptly did this to it within a week :-
by lift off oversteering into a ditch and rolling it along a fence line - rather him than me!
That would now be perfect for me!I bought:-

I could use everything bar the shell on the new project!
Hi
I am waiting on some good weather so that I can give the Fiesta a clean and get the pictures done.
In the mean time the MK1 Golf GTi project has started!!
See: http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&t...
Let me know what you think!
Cheers

Missed this thread first time around; really enjoyed reading that.
Thanks for sharing all the photos, car is a real credit to you.
I know you say you're not into car shows but if weather allows bring it along to a Sunday service. A lot of people around here would love to see it in the metal.

Hi
Well the sun was shining this morning so I decided to pull the Fiesta out and give it a wash. Apologies to Matt from RedWater Auto who supplied me with Dodojuice wax; I will wax it when I get chance!
As some of you will know I have begun the restoration of a MK1 Golf GTi, with this in mind I have made the decsion to put the Fiesta up for sale!!
Now it will not be sold for peanuts and if it does not sell first time round I will most probably keep it long term. I have put it on E-bay without a description as have put the link in for this thread:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-FORD-FIESTA-RS-TURB...
I have had a lot of excellent feedback already. The main reason for selling is that I could do with the full garage back for the Golf. I have set a reserve price but it is set at less than what the car owes me.
There are still a few jobs to be done but will leave them for a new owner. For example I have not had time to get the tracking done, wire the stereo in etc.
Ok, I know you lot like pictures so I have taken quite a few...... I have even done a short video (click on the link).
Please enjoy the pictures and once again THANK YOU! This has not been an easy project and your support, motivation and advice has not gone unappreciated.
Cars in particular always look better in pictures than they do in reality. To any potential buyers out there please be aware that I am an amateur; the paintwork looks good in the pictures but there are areas that are not brilliant. The Fiesta needs to be used, please remeber that it has only just been put back together, it will need refining and tweeking as you go.
ENJOY!.....

No need to apologise, it's good for the Golf (and daily runner) too! Don't know what colour it's going to be but it doesn't matter that the wax is the 'Red / Orange / Warm' one - can slap it on whichever colour you wish as you know.
Still can't believe that you're selling the Fiesta straight away, I guess it was more about the project than the car was it?
Anyway, I'm definitely watching the Golf thread with interest!
Good luck with all of it.

I guess you are correct in that it was about completing the car rather than me falling in love with this particular make/model.
