Ill Start off with the car i have owned for nearly 20yrs The Sierra XR4i,
When it was introduced in the spring of 1983 i said to my self i` ll have one of them,it`s then futuristic looks with that Bi-plane rear spoiler may have looked boyracer to some but to a 21 yr old it looked a million dollars, it was the perfect car to do my frequent trip of Helenburgh(nr Glasgow)to Fareham Hants a journey which took 6 hours in them days
Ill leave you to work that one out 
The lazy 2.8V6 would cruise all day at 3 figs(if you wanted of course
)The XR4 was soon replaced by the Cosworth version, I could never afford one of them,but is up there with the alltime greats.I don`t know why i kept the car all these years I stored it in 1994 and brought it out of excile last spring the car`s first owner was a FMC director hence the very high specification it has every extra from the options catalogue. O.k it may not be the most successful model ever made but the memory of those high speed trips make me smile to this day

Dad used to own a Ford garage and we always had one as a run around. The best one ever was a Tickford Turbo conversion that when I was about 18 was allowed to run around in, how I still have a license is incredible.
I once made Chandlers Ford to Hayling in something like 10 - 15 mins along the M27 racing a big Kawasaki
I saw an indicated 155mph in that thing.

He was in partnership roughly 85 - 87 at Hayling Motors with a good mate. The mate turned out to be a right to$$er and it all went pear-shaped.
An old mate of mine once told me 'A partnership is a ship that never sails' I've never forgotten that.

Yes but this was back in the mid 80's so no speed camera's less traffic cop cars actually had to catch you to nick you.
Which is probably why I got away with passing one at well in to 3 figures - did shite myself for weeks after though when they used to pop in for coffee!
