My induction has a filter in the NS bumper, the idea was to allow hot air to escape, when the a/c fan/rad fan comes on, hot air goes underneath the car and the inlet temp goes up, not as high as the OE airbox though which i found restrictive. Looked silly to have only one vent so OS has one too..
Here's a quick picture of my 2003/53 plate, Focus RS. I picked 2596 on the 16th of October 2012 after a lengthy hunt for an unmolested example, she had covered only 37,000 miles and was owned for the majority of its life by an MD of Ford Motor Company.
It is one of the later spec cars therefore it has the pink throttle trumpet, stitched seats, and slightly later engine map however it is now running a Superchips / Bluefin Map which adds a few extra Horse Powers.
The bodywork is spot on with only a few tiny stone chips, while she is off the road for the winter I am getting all four alloys refurbished in the standard silver and having a sports CAT fitted which should again bring a few more Horse Powers.
I'm not out to chase figures, however I do know that the OEM Ford CAT is very restrictive. The Sports CAT i'm looking at fits the original system so fitting this wont detract from the standard looks.
Heres a few pics:
