My 2002 Ford Puma Thunder, taken last weekend on the EVO Triangle. A bit dirty, after over 200 miles of enthusiastic driving on some of the brilliant roads of North Wales. First post! Whoohoo!

Nice pic!
Welcome. What did you think of the triangle? Parts of it are fantastic, I took the 3200 up there last summer.

I'm betting that the sound of that Maserati V8 made some lovely sounds reverberating off the hills! Yes, the Triangle was great. I've driven it only once before, and it was quiet on both times I've been on it - maybe the threat of bad weather that weekend kept everyone away. The only interesting car I saw on my last visit was a lovely Triumph Spitfire heading in the opposite direction. As I live in South Manchester the Triangle is sort of on the doorstep. Started off (after a very unhealthy breakfast at the OK Diner on the A55) heading down the eastern side to Cerrigydrudion, then over the B5105 to Ruthin. Nant Y Garth Pass, then Horseshoe Pass, A5 to Pentrefoelas before heading up the western side of the Triangle. In truth, I still prefer the roads of the Scottish Highlands (the A87 to Skye is still the most enjoyable road I've driven - even in my old Ford Ka!), and I'm hoping to get the Puma back up there this year for a more spirited and entertaining drive than the old Ka could manage. However, it's certainly fun exploring the roads of north Wales in the meantime.

Good to see some Capri owners on here, too - any photos of that MkII of yours? Still miss my immaculate black MkIII 2.0S - a Sainsbury's lorry wrote it off some years ago when it reversed into it in their car-park whilst I was doing my shopping at the supermarket. frown Biggest dent in a supermarket carpark I've ever had.

There is a pic a couple of pages back I think. These are a bit old as I have not taken any in a while but it still looks just the same (although front bumper sits better now). My wife has family that lives near Ruthin so we go up there every now and then. The 3200 did sound nice when opened up although I am certain the Capri would have sounded all right too! I have also added a pic of my brothers Escort.

I'm pretty sure that's the one they are talking about LDM, as that's what I thought when I saw it. The Escort looks fantastic, but your Capri is in a different class. Superb. Just out of curiosity, given the fact that you have the Maserati and Capri, can I ask what is it that prompts you to pick up the Capri keys for a drive rather than the Maserati?

My old Focus, bought as a rough Part ex to clear from a trader, many hours of detailing and some new wheels later. It was a 1.4 and a ridiculously tough motor, despite sounding tappety, and being very slow and thirsty.

Both cars have there benefits, the Maserati is a fantastic car and I love driving it hearing the twin turbo's whistle has become almost as addictive as the twin 45's on the Capri and obviously it has plenty of pace.

The Capri for me is just so cool and always puts a smile on my face. The fun factor is there straight away without the need for silly speeds. The Capri is the more pampered of the two but still gets plenty use/stick. The Capri may not have the power or speed of the Maserati but handles well and feels nice and nimble.

On a nice day nothing beats going out in the Capri for a bit of fun.

Two very nice looking cars - always fancied a pop or something similar, mind you there are far too many cars that I would love to own. Quite fancy something from the 50s / 60s next.

What engines are in them?
