Twigged that my colleague in the unit next door is a metslsmith and making those bumpers would be a fiddle for him..Only problem is a pair of bumpers would be needed as a former..Or perhaps a bumper.
David they are cast not formed and all 4 corners are different its not as simple as you think.

Hi again , thanks for your input I have purchased a set of original bumpers off a very helpfull andrew gray ,at so it seems now a good price compared to what it seams there bringing , but they do need a bit of work to tidy them but I count myself lucky to have them just got a shock of my life when I checked up how much for a respray ,especially as the body work as been completely stripped of old paint and repaired to any gell cracks,

You should be able to find my friend ,work colleague in Facebook. ..Iron - Mason.
He could certainly spruce them up for you. .
Casting new ones will be difficult but he has experience in making martial art swords and film setting.
Makes bespoke aluminium motorcycle fuel tanks and so on..
Regarding the painting a guy called here to collect a chassis who is a TVR specialist..
Don't know where you live but I have a hunch from the adverts WFD was in Yorkshire
He gave me his card..

Hi no I won't be using original colour there's a few I like one being the austin Martin dark grey, the others two tone silver top with either dark electric blue, or a lighter metallic blue bottom. Thanks for the tip I will ring him ,I'm in the north east ,I've just done some work on the bumpers not concors but will do the job

Dreamt that I would one day have WFD back one day and paint it and restore back to original..
I have been a stippler for factory colours as left the factory over the years.
Although in my ownership I did experiment doing the bonnet black.
Gunmetal grey sounds marvellous but the trim is tan.
I remember seeing a Davrian at the 1973 racing car show which was moon stone metalic blue .The interior was trimmed in two time ran like WFD and it looked so good. .
Still hope you have success.
Could you not paint it yourself?

Forgot to mention that I have the ignition key on a 1980's TVR fob.
Maybe one day I can hand them over to you.

Hi,dont have a key for the car was going to strip the ignition barrel out to find a number so that would be good to have an original key if you let me know what you want for it I would pay, plus postage if your prepared to part with it. regards Keith PS. Just had a quote for respray from that guy you mentioned ,anywhere from £3500\ to £6000depending on condition of body ? Gulp. Might look. Into getting it wrapped. They reckon they do some high class cars and it's cheaper than spray paint

That's looney money !
If you visit "Llewellyn Imp Motorsport " on Facebook you can see that I have painted a couple of cars..not concours but what I call competition standard.
No wonder I am poor as my customers never get charged that amount.
If you buy the paint then you could let me have a go at £15 hour..
Or you could do it yourself here but renting a space. .
The only catch is it would have to be ORANGE..lol.
I have someone coming to weld up their coupe imp paying £50 month. So this may be a new thing for me.
You can have the keys. They should have gone with the car anyway!

And a fantastic job you have done on them as well Keith.
So glad they went to a good home.
As for the bolts to attach either side i bought stainless coach bolts and ground the heads down to the right domed size and polished i believe originally they where chromed heads but this is easier to find and wont rust.

Hi Keith
Andy has kindly sent me the code for what he used on his car

http://tvr.at/vixen2-67.html

He used ICI Paint Code RRT Orange NP85

His car certainly looks amazing however he suggests painting a door as a tester first to make sure your happy as with all paints the colour will vary depending on the light My red car sometimes looks pink in certain light

You are right there !
To think under different circumstances my ownership of WFD could have led to it being like that..
I have seen pictures of other Vixens with wooden fascia. .Was that standard?
