Just had a flash memory that I have ' nt been on here for a while. .
So hope that all's well and you are enjoying the project..
I may have said as in that some time after i put WFD in a lock up I acquired a Lotus Elan +2 ..
Not a pristine condition one but a runner.
This was something like 1983..
Things turned sour when the front chassis started cracking..
Hence a decision either to restore or sell . So that meant two sportscars that didn't work ..
I ended up breaking the Elan and managed to get my money back at least..
Not sure if WFD will match the financial status of an Elan + 2 in same restored condition but either way who would have thought either would fetch such commanding prices today.

Looks like good progress to me.
Did'nt like that mention of you having to sell it!
I feel it is safe in your hands now and I'd hate to think it would spends years more static in a lock up and sitting awaiting to be finished and ending up like it was with me..
Having said that please tell me if you feel inclined to part..
I have recently acquired two Imps for serious work on so I hope I do not have to make myself anxious in thinking WFD will go missing again

I have a hunch that the engine leaks oil and perhaps needs work. Hence the forward part of the chassis can then be painted more easily with engine removal.

Have you thought about the suspension spring rates due to the increased weight at the front. .
I remember the ride was very firm with the xflow and the rear used to hop up and down..

No that was a custom job done by the previous owner to me..
The bodyshell was Brown..

Marigold exterior was supplied with black trim..

It springs back memories seeing that trim..My Irish Setter used to stand at the rear section of the centre bit and lean into the corners..

Do hope the 'TEAC & BARC' decals are still in the back window!

Haha ..That probably is the one from.the car that existed when i had it..
I do know a previous owner sold the bumpers for over £600..I sourced that from ebay..
Amazing the rear heated screen wasn't sold off..
For myself i had a notion of doing that as my plans were to compete with WFD.
A perspex rear window was considered.
The spare wheel cover was black if i remember right.

Post hasn't dried up.
Lots of people just sit back and read..
To me it is a marvel to see WFD progress to present state..
Taking into account £200 'a worth of paint I cannot see the justification of £6000 for a paint job. .
I build racing cars in a 10 metre square premises at a rented business unit premises so I have similar overheads and so on.
I do get people to obtain parts and pay for themselves ..Astonished as to the cost of them. .
The world has gone crazy over historic cars!

That should be 10 metres by 10 metres premises not 10 metres square.

Had another ex car turn up. .The Mason Stiletto 's new owner from 6 years ago was making enquiries as to its past to which I got to hear about and I obliged..
Things were getting exciting when he requested me to help get it back on the track but since then he has not replied. .
I bought the Mason Stiletto just before I saw WFD 400H parked up in a side road in Brentwood...
I am in the notion of getting cine film footage of both cars transferred into DVD which I hope is good ..I havn't been able to see the film for years as it was taken by me in 1980..
Perhaps i will be able to' you tube' it for all to see..
Other than that I have been multi Stromberg carb testing and rectifying for a customer whose engine I actually built for months ago..
I bought the world worst rotten imp shell some time ago and am doing an exercise in innovation and imagination to transform it into a competition shell..
It's all on my Facebook page " Llewellyn Imp Motorsport ". amongst lots of other interesting snippets.
I am selling one project that was to be a replica of my first car but have changed my mind as I have decided to use more time and money on EVR 151D my ex friend ,sponser and customer the late Ted Pool. MC..Google that and see what a guy he was..D day paratrooper and motorsport competitor..

Does anyone know who bought Tina Marshall 's TVR Tina?
It was placed on auction some time back..
Wonder if it will be in the show circuit .

Amazing..
That is interesting..
Why not visit the Hillman Imp Group site on Facebook and write that..
Be a change from the stance lowered ,massive 20deg negative wheel camber some of them keep going on about...

I also have a wreck of a Sunbeam Rapier..Series V
Despite being near derelict I wish I had turned to these years a go..
Nice blend of late 1950's into late 1960's with a competition history in their day.

I had heard troublesome things about early TVR wiring but that is one thing that I had no nonsense with..
Anything that caused problems were the donor parts from other makes..

Even my premises has space problems..
Have eight vehicles here at present..
Only one a customer car though..
The rest are mine..
WFD would have been here if I had the circumstances I have now as would the Mason Stiletto. I am waiting for the owner to resurface again after tempting offer of involvement towards another chapter id Motorsport
My Facebook site "Llewellyn Imp Motorsport " does reviel all he details

I will have to get the cine film converted of WFD to show you it parked up outside the shared accommodation near Brentwood Station circa 1980

Would it not be possible to get a history list from DVLA?
Sure I must still have a bundle of receipts from previous owner to me which may be of use..
Think his name was Gareth of Thorndon Park.Brentwood Essex. .
He was the one who has it painted in brown and trimmed in tan..
As you say it would be good to find the first owner who put it together maybe as a component car..
