Looking at Cleg's pics there - maybe I prefer the old back after all.

Whichever back end is on it - it's f*king stunning IMO, nothing else comes close.

Yes it's expensive compared to a ... Nissan? Cerbera even? But that's not its competition.

What does anything else that can top 200mph cost?
What about anything else that can top 200mph with kids in the back? Oh no, nothing else can do this.
What does anything else that looks as good cost?

Oh, no, nothing else looks as good.

Noise is generally strangled by cats nowadays anyway.

Answer to the above.

90k, and cost of overship would be far, far better
Yes it can 996 TT.
Beg to differ on looks.

I'm not over keen either I'm afraid.. that back side window..?? and the roofline at the back with the high arse gives it almost a "Megane Coupe" look to me..

Looks f@cking fantastic to me!! Don't like the lights as much as the 1st prototype though.

Comparisons to a Megane are laughable - I know, I own one as well as my Chimp!

uh oh.

It's a love it - hate it car. Well, it's not like PW to court controversy is it?

For what it's worth, I think it looks fantastic. Well done TVR, producing another ridiculously over powered extreme car. Excellent.

Hats off to anyone who can afford one, and then afford to *run* it.

Looks like two different cars joined in the middle, like someone did a cut and shut in the dark.

Draw a line down the windscreen and door shut on a side view and tell me I'm wrong. The proportions are all wrong.

Makes the Tamora behind look cute though!

I really like the front view and the side view is OK but as for the back The prototpye looked so much better IMHO
As usual the interior looks fantastic.

I wonder if TVR will be bringing out a boat anytime soon

Does your last comment exclude the gurlies ? Actually, what's the gurlie equivalent ?

Anyway, I think the diff between the original and the mark 2 R is more about the colour. The dark colours help the overlong rear side window and the rear lights disappear. Imagine it in a dark metallic "changey colour" type colour.....

The back window looks a little too long from the side but the way it tapers looks good fromm a front three quarter view...

I think 19" wheels would have filled in nicer (Not Max Power) and I understand they are modifying the exhausts so no comment there.

Shame they didn't include a boot of any description but hey!

I wonder how long until they use some styling cues for the Tuscan (Rear diffuser and exhausts)

Love the interior though! I do agree it's a bad idea having digital dash. Dials are interpretable in an instant plus have you ever tried to look at your revs in a Tuscan? Pointless... Do they have the same seats as the Tuscan/Cerbera?

Well I took your advice.......and sadly it definitely doesn't give me a (cough) hard on. No doubt it will be the best handling TVR ever etc etc but it just looks I really hope it's looks aren't indicative of things to come for TVR. I could go on and on but will probably be accused of being a TVR hater; I'm not - its just very dissapointing when you compare this with the great shapes of the last 10 years or so which seem to have been compromised.

I'm sad. The tuscan is gorgeous, elegant even. We all saw swordfish, there's no denying its presence. This car is meaner, more powerful, the fastest tvr ever for literal consumption.... but, how in the world could this shape have been the one that was approved by all? for once, I think designing by committee would have prevented this permutation of the original. It is not, in my book, ugly. It merely falls short of the un-aerodynamic sexiness of the rest of the tvr range. They had rejected the jellybean trend until now. seriously, look at a ferrari 360 modena and then a cerbera and tell me which one has more downforce at speed. Pretty interesting, isn't it. But which one has arcing fenders and intriguing but otherwise purposeless details? the tvr. Not so with this car. unfortunately, I will grow to like this car, just like I learned to like the saleen s7, which I originally thought to have overlong overhangs and an assortment of unrequired fins that made a cheese grater blush. fix the tamora, then offer this drivetrain in a std shape tuscan, then we'll talk, trevor.

I'm guessing your using Windows Media Player. I've found it's not much cop when it comes to non-standard resolutions. You could try Quicktime. I've found it to be a big improvement.

Just had a thought:

Do you know where they got the styling cues for the revised back end from? The film "Swordfish" - the Tuscan ended up with bullet holes splattered all over its body. Hey presto - Tuscan R rear end!

I would like to know why they keep changing the design. The prototype looks stunning. But - as any artist will know - sometimes it's hard to know when to stop....

Much better than the Tamora but the price tag won't be appealing at all. Owners are only likely to include die hard TVR fans with a huge budget. I'm sure it will be another sought after TIV though, it's got a rear end on par with Kylie but the lights could be better placed. Profile view isn't too clever though. If it's going to compete with other cars at it's price tag it needs some minor tweaks. I'll be sticking with my Cerbera for a while yet.
