Makes a 991 look a bargain.

That's the price for a totally new one.

Refurb is still very expensive though at about £36K.

The thing I want to know though is where they're going to find the guys to build them....

If the new cars meet any of the restrictions faced when exporting to USA/Australia, that would lead to a few orders being placed

Nice to see them emerging from extinction, at the very least, a 'going concern' is more saleable than a dead company.

Here's the breakdown...

http://www.tvrmotors.eu/wp-content/uploads/TVR-Pri...

TVRs were always priced under comparable cars from 'upmarket' brands eg a 911? These new cars are more expensive arent they than a comparable car. (and I know the performance is more GT3RS than 911s or whatever)

At 100K for a tuscan I doubt they have a going concern, more of a delusional dream, but good luck to them.

So an LS3 conversion costs 10k +VAT drive in and out. That to me sounds pretty reasonable, especially after the costs mentioned by those who've done it themselves.

Very reasonable. Do they have examples of transplants completed so far?

However do you have to give them your engine? If you can sell that then that makes it even cheaper.

Is it that cheap? Assuming the development work has been done, which I hope it has if they're offering the service, then each subsequent job should be reasonably straightforward.
List price of a full LS3 with all necessary ancilliaries is £5,915 (discounts available if buying several) so say £5,400, that leaves £4,600 for labour and other bits and bobs.

All plus the VAT of course.

I think a trip to Power or RG will give you change from the £10k and a TVR that's still original.

I know that once you've owned a TVR they tend to get under your skin, well if you are of a certain persuation anyway. But they are not in anyway comprable to a modern porsche 911. So they should be priced appropriately. I feel that this new venture is an attempt to cash in on what eagle are attempting to do with the E type.
TVR's are great at what they do, providing a relatively cheap entry into sportscar ownership, they are not bluechip investments, nor are they worth 100k, whether new or re engineered. I love my Griff, but please keep it real!

Is it just me who doesn't think the reborn price (option 4) is "that bad" at £36k? Add the price of a donor and you could end up with a spec to your requirements for not a lot more than when new i.e. c£50k?
