Major problem! The roof disappeared!
Discussion
they sit inside above the sunvisers and clip the roof onto the front windscreen surround from the inside.. they're made by Southco plastics although they don't sell direct to the public.. they're quite big, about 1 1/4" by 3"..
Have a look at an S and you will see them... any Tiv dealer etc. should be able to get hold of them..
Cheers

S's have roof clips, Griffs and Chimps don't. The later simply rely on the break-back struts to push the assembly forward into the channel on the screen top.
The struts in my 500 are very stiff - they only just snap into place, hence they exert a lot of pressure to hold the roof in place. However, they are secured with nuts at the bottom, so maybe if these got loose and slipped, they could work less well. Also maybe check the allen bolts around the inside, as I'm sure they're related.

I had a close escape a couple of years back in my S2. Only the front windscreen surround clip held the panel on the car, (I was doing 140 MPH at the time and it frightens the shite out of you!)
My theory is that there is a partial vacuum at the rear of the hood, (it's how a diffuser works on an F1 car). The drag on the hood causes the rear roof / roll hoop to flex enough to pop the lugs out of the slots, then it's bye, bye roof!

Thanks to everyone who replied, I appreciate the advice, and thanks to Alex for the offer of a spare, however the dealer has kindly loaned me a red one whilst he stiffs me for the price of a new blue one! I may have to replace the whole lot though because it's tatty from being an ex-demo and I'll never get a fabric match anyway. It's a silver 450 by the way, registered last July and now has just under six on the clock. Also, I've got the original walnut dash from when I swapped it out for stainless if anyone's interested. Regards.
