Half the time things like this can't be tracked down because people don't want them to be found. A bit like Smolensky. I want to track him down to ask him some questions... But can he be found!!!!
Braungasse 22, Vienna? bowtie
Yep Mr Smolenski lives in Vienna and I have both his personal email and phone number.

Who wants to start the bidding? biggrin

(Only joking....about the bidding bit I mean)

As far as I'm aware he sold it just before TVR closed.

A friend of a friend of a friend has seen smolenski's nob when he got it out in london after a night on the town. rolleyes

FFS. I really feel Pistonheads is coming to an end for me...and the club scene for that matter. Do we see discussions about restoration these days...Not much..The last 3 most discussed topics on the Pitonheads forum are...

In 3rd Place "Where is the speed 12...."

Running it a close second the thread entitled "Some nob head didn't pay me my £100 for my second hand cans"

And the most riveting of them all.... 25 odd screens of "someones egged my TVR"

Time to buy a bicycle me thinks blabla

All the Cerbera Speed 12s are now accounted for, perhaps we should focus our efforts on tracking the two original Speed 12 shells down? Something could be made of them I'm sure.
So when are you going to start the hunt? Whats your budget when you find it?
Don't tempt ME... I might get crazy ideas here !!!

Nick's been on the hunt for a while. He's got some clues, but so far, no cigar!

As for budget, ha, not likely at the moment. However, in future, who knows!

Hi Dave, he's got pointers from ex factory workers, but he's got no further. The clues he has got tend to point towards it being back at the Wheelers, as previously stated by others, but nobody is positive. Obviously someone is going to know where it went after it left the Bluebird workshop, if that info could be shared, that'd be useful.

Nick. I know people laugh at the fact he wants to put some form of replica Speed 12 on the road, but I myself laughed at him when he said "I'm going to buy a TVR". 3 years later, he has a fully rebuilt TVR sat in the garage! Without dreams and ambitions, life is a bit boring, is it not?

Fully rebuilt - chassis, interior, engine, paint, nuts, bolts, carpets, diff, rubbers etc etc? Well done.
Building a replica - he will need deep pockets. £100K might get it kick started.

Not necessarily. Clearly he'd have to get a proper look at the shell. Does it have a chassis? Appears to have some form of structure, as it has wheels, and seems to have a steering mechanism of some form. If it's the motorshow car, it has an interior too. Could it have a full chassis, and just need engine and transmission? Dependant on what he put in, that may not be as expensive as you think. Suddenly it doesn't seem that expensive anymore. It depends entirely on what that shell actually is, and what can be done with it. If it's just a shell though, I full agree it could get silly expensive.

Nick, you really do need to put in a lot more research. Given a shell, a chassis, and some suspension the figure of 100K quoted earlier by Gazzab would still be a starting point. You obviously have no idea what goes into a speed 12.
