I believe the Orange Topcats Marcos is ex CBH.

Good luck this weekend chaps. Not sure I'm out as budget doesn't allow Brands indy, favouring Brands GP and Oulton instead. Really looking forward to seeing Andy's car out again and Rod giving it the beans. Just don't bounce off the Orange Marcos as we need some points for the championship. Ta. biggrin
Don't worry mate, Andy has given me strict instructions not to bounce off anything including the curbs and this race is all about finishing not outright performance, the car needs to be gently introduced to endurance as thus far most of it's racing has been sprinting. With the upgrades Andy has carried out, we should be fine but we intend to take our time and look for reliability and longevity of the components so will minimise the stress we place on her.

Having said that , if Andy goes off for a loo break and can't see what I'm up to, I'll give it some stick hehebouncedriving
I'll give you some bloody stick Hawthorn!!

Ive told you repeatedly Hawthorn, I am not going to spank you with the splitter punch

I would thank you if you would please extend the same courtesy to said splitter, by not spanking it against the kerbs.

If you're as fast on the track as your retorts, it could be silverware time! biggrin

There's no "If" about it, good God man, I'm so quick you'll need a time lapse camera just to catch me in real time, a standard brownie will do for Andy, as she would have time to draw a sequence of hand drawings that you could them flip through to give the impression of speed hehe

By the way, with Britcar trophies, one must never attempt to polish them as the the "silverware" becomes Tupperware. wink

Managed to get in the car in under 5 secs, was the wrong way round but I see this as pure semantics, getting out still needs work, best unaided time thus far 1 hour 18 Min's and 42 secs, best out time with the help of Andy and 3 mechanics, 1.5 seconds but with injuries nuts

Weighed myself this morning, 3 months back I was 15.9, cut out eating so now down to race fit level of 14.12 bounce

That's easy then you take the second stint and then while Andys on the podium the guys can lever you out of the car, job done.

If the forecast for showers comes true, Rodders may well avoid the whole issue anyway by making an executive decision to put Jay in the car. hehe

...which is almost exactly what happened. 3rd in class on our debut, which could have been second were it not for an extra (possibly unnecessary) fuel stop. The car ran faultlessly for 2 hrs, so all in all very pleased indeed. Great to see some old TVR friends, and meet some new, sorry if we didn't get much chance to chat, it was a busy day!

Cracking day! A few of us headed down in convoy quite early on to catch the qualifying and to have a chance to wander through the pits.
Had a quick chat with the Topcats team, including a look at an LS3 Griff that made an appearance in the paddock. Good to say hi again to Andy and have a quick look at the car before the race.

A few highlights from the day!

Great couple of testing/race days, the car was superb, the support team were magnificent, thanks boys for everything you did. Britcar welcomed Andy for this debut race in their own inevitable style, we did however get a mention when we picked up our 3rd in class 2 trophies from Marketing Manager Hayley, who is always on the ball when it comes to supporting a new team taking part in the series. Andy's family support division did us proud throughout the two days, we never wanted for anything food and drink wise including a full chinese banquet on Friday night, thank you all. Well done to Hayley and David at Britcar, and a thank you to all britcar support staff. Finally, it was nice to see some familiar faces and be visited by all of you with TVR interests, and to our very good friends, and now team mates, Andy and Yvonne, who made the whole experience possible, we loved every minute of it, cheers guys. Brands Indy is a wonderful little circuit to race on, MSVA now look after it very well with vastly improved services, and last, but not least, thanks to all you volunteer marshals, without whom nobody would be racing.

Much to my suprise, having spent years away from TVR's,I now realise how much I've missed them, Andy built this car from scratch, and it is a work of art, furthermore, she stood up to the punishment that a 2 hour endurence race inflicts and did so with honour, and I believe that todays first race podium finish will be one of many in this highly regarded national level that is the MSA Britcar endurance series.

Cheers all

Great day out and so nice to be able to walk round the pits and meet the teams.
Well done to Andy and the team for the podium.
It was great to see two tivs out on track and not only make it to the end of the race, but hold their own against much bigger teams.
Thanks also to Macey and Mr Chips for the company all day and the drive to and from the track, plus great photo's.

The owner of the yellow shoes.
