Sounds like a certain yellow Cerb sbould have a considerable ballast penalty -- ME! in a passenger seat ;-)
Quite a result with a sick (not yoof speak) car.

Bodmin said: Just got back from Brands. Mike won the first TVR race after starting at the back of the grid and running on 6 cylinders He then competed in another catergory straight after the first TVR race and won second....again with 6 cylinders...against cars with 6-700bhp engines He started the second TVR race, hopefully on 8 cylinders....possible coil fault.....from pole position and won with approx 1/2 lap lead over the second place Tuscan driven by Cook I left before Mike's second race in the other catergory but I think there may be a pattern emerging..... Bodders Oh dear that sounds bad. The challenge rules have been specifically written so that Tuscan race cars win everything. How very dare Mike turn up in a converted road car and spank their arses

In 2009 and 2010 the overall winners of the championship were driving TASMINS! Dave

Indeed they were, well done to you. Obviously my tongue in cheek comment on the pre-season shenanigans, laughing smiley, and praise of Mike in his ex road car has completely missed the mark, I am certainly guilty of misjudging the audience. I apologise unreservedly to those who are offended.

Your comment was provocative at least and the people who have read your previous posts on the Challenge regs know why. Now let's cut the crap and feel the love

Come on Joo, stop messing about and get that 350R out - with an AJP in it that thing should have no trouble at all getting past a Tuscan!

I was there on the Saturday. Unfortunately I couldn't make the Sunday, sounds like I missed some good racing on the Sunday. Good to catch up with everyone again though. Planning on getting to all the races this year. I need my TVR racing fix to get me through winter.

Thanks for that link. Really interesting stats particularly like Mikes catch em and take em lap by lap gaps etc... A bit Hamilton esque in Canada but without the ear jewellery.

Some great racing yesterday, not just from Mike "I'll start at the back then" Saunders, but especially NTEL with his demonstration of how to dump your shiney new Tuscan racer in the kitty litter at speed and just carry on driving through it and back on track again Some brilliant overtaking, side by side battles like Tim Davies and Keith Williams for several laps, and spectacular tank slappers (sometimes controlled, sometimes spinned - Jason Clegg - hat's off to you sir !!) Plus the TVRs definitely make the best sounds of any car down that pit straight. Silverstone next..... end of July...

Well what a hectic weekend!! In qualifying we were running the fresh engine in and had some electrical issues meaning we had to start from the back of the grid in both the TVR Challenge and the Eurosaloons. Race One was in the Eurosaloons: We started from 27th and were up to 8th by lap 5! However the race was then Red flagged due to a big shunt. I think we could have won this race if it had gone full distance. http://youtu.be/5nXkmAwUaMcRace 2 was on Sunday morning in the TVR Challenge. As i drove the car to the grid i felt the car missfire heavily. Unfortunately this didnt clear up and we were left running on 6 cylinders all weekend! Looking at the data logger we were under 300bhp..... But hey I love a challenge! You can see the difference in straight line speed! http://youtu.be/ycLaD_T9J6cRace 3 was back to back with race 2 so no time to check anything straight back out onto the grid! We were 12th on the grid for this one and if only we had had full power!! A totaly amazing race though! http://youtu.be/WYrleW1QH4sRace 4 was the last race of the day. Starting from pole. Great to have 2 Cerbs on the podium!! Well done John! http://youtu.be/jbaGV2fGanIAll in all a good fun weekend of racing. Dissapointed we couldnt show the full potential of the car (we were around 3 seconds per lap slower than normal). The eurosaloons race was probably one of the most intense races i have had, I was so pumped after! Very unusual for me to get that exited as you can hear on the video!! Thanks to everyone who came to see us! Cheers Mike
