As a lot of you will be putting your pride and joys away for the winter, mine is just coming out to play!
Combination of various things have meant it hasn't been on the road as much as it should have been.
Not the cars fault I hasten to add!
Time
Money
Pish poor summer
Lotus Elise to play with instead
Parked at parents
All factors

MOT passed
Insurance transferred over from the GTV
Taxed

Needs a damn good wash and polish, jump start and belly full of juice.

I'm actually excited and probably won't wait till the weekend to go and get it!

I am in a similar boat to you - my Chim has been off the road since february having a chassis restoration, respray and new interior, and it's nearly finished, just in time for winter! As you say the one consolation for us is that it has pissed it down for most of the summer.

Happy winter hooning beer

Nothing like an exhilarating drive in the cool air, and does the car good to be used year round I reckon.

More power too ! biggrin

Agree - couldn't bear for it to be SORNed and not be able to get it out on a nice crisp day.

Enjoy!

I must have a thing for black wheels!
The Elise has black alloys as well smile
Also, bought both cars like that!
Will have to head out and get some nice autumnal photos.
Any excuse for a trip to the Lakes.

Slightly off topic but...I would love to know your unbiased opinions about these 2 cars, pro's & cons of both.

I am considering entering the Lotus fold too, as a change as much as anything, however, for the past 10 years one of my motoring buddies has a series 1 Loti, & we have completed many foreign & UK jaunts together & its always interesting comparing the two but of course the drivers are different.

I have driven the S1 across France, but would prob be looking at an S2 - how do they compare if at all in your view to a 500 RV8 apart from the obvious differences? & which one would you keep if you had to sell one?

The year before last, we ended up getting the Christmas tree in the Griff.
It was a blizzard, top off and tree sticking out from the passanger seat.
We had some funny looks!

As for a comparsion between the Griffith and the S2 Elise...

The Elise feels nimble, agile and feels like anyone can take it on a spirited drive. My dad enjoys it as well.
It even sounds good with sports exhaust and nice big air filter.
Gets admiring glances and people stopping and passing comment aall the time.

The Griffith,
It always makes me nervous before taking it out, much more of a handful and much more of an occasion.
It goes like the clappers, sounds like thunder and gets me grinning from ear to ear.

As you have asked me to choose which to keep, it would be the Griffith without a second thought.
It's a car I have wanted for so long.
My first dream car, well one that was realistic!
We have had our disagreements and fallings out but, it's a goosebumps car. Amazing and a proper classic.
