The chin spoiler might actually be a rather worthwhile addition if it helps retaining some sort of directional stability and the ability to steer at the sort of speeds it would be capable of.

I see no such excuse for the skirts...

I can imagine. People place enough emphasis on the little spoiler underneath the front of the Chimaera.
