I think that looks absolutely superb.

Think the wheels I pasted earlier are from Prodrive. Various styles etc...

Just FYI I've gone round the loop on this again in light of the thread (and will also soon have a spare set of tyres I need to put on something)

From what I've understood and been told, and without going into the details, only the SP12 wheel has really been researched in terms of offset and width etc to really match the characteristics of the T-car chassis (Sagaris aside given wider track - haven't looked into this). The original spiders don't really have the right characteristics and were specced on the cheap - and this has been borne out by some recent back to back testing. The SP12/Team Dynamics also a decent value wheel....but (IMO) aside from the Cerb and Tamora they don't really suit the cars.

Wouldn't it be great if we could get the OEM to produce stronger, lighter spiders in a choice of widths with the correct offsets?

Just been having a look through the Wolfrace site... There are a few others, but IMHO these are the best.

I know the owner of said co and he previously wasnt keen...
I dont know what contractual arrangements he currently has for the spiders. Is it with Power? The SP12 contract is currently with ACT afaik. Not sure if that complicates getting a better spider made (regardless of the costs and min order issues).
A blank spider is very cheap to produce (on scale) - think they punted out the finished spider at £50 each to TVR.

Wolf race wheels will be heavy, plus like you say ideal on a Clio hehe

You need to see some in the flesh, like I mentioned I always thought nothing would beat spiders as the design really works with all the t cars IMO. My mind firmly changed though when I put my Rotas on though. They just don't photograph well. The shape of tvr's lends itself well to a deep dish on the rear too.

Either way though I bought them because I had a buckled wheel and because how heavy spiders were. These have made a noticible difference to handling and feel.

Obviously I don't know the numbers but from a demand perspective alone it feels like a missed business opportunity to me...

An interesting email from TSW...
Thanks for your enquiry. Fitments for this vehicle have to be pretty specific from what I can make out. The o.e. data I have says the wheels are 8.5x18 all round et42 front and et35 rear.

Basing a fitment on that information we could potentially do the following wheels but these may require a spacer to get to the correct offsets. Unfortunately it may mean having to extend your wheel studs.

Interlagos - 8.5x18 et45
Max - 8.5x18 either et30 or et40.
Nurburgring - 8.5x18 et45
Panorama - 8.5x18 et45

I have to say I'm not that thrilled about a spacer, or the extended studs... The Interlargos though I really like the look of. It looks like a cross between a modern spider and the original Sag wheels.

I think I may follow up about the potential of these wheels, especially as the official importers are Yokohama, and therefore the tyres would be in the right place as well...

They work in my opinion, on any T car.

I thought the blades of the wheel kind of referenced the slats on the bodywork.

Don,

Those first two Wolfrace wheels are...... AWFUL vomit
Third set are...ok...just !

Have you seen the wheels on Jason's Sag at Str8Six ?? They look quite decent. No idea what make they are.

I've just been told I can't have those wheels off Danny Winstanley's Sag - sold already - but they are Rota's and Craig Winstanley says those sizes/offsets, plus weight savings and strength are likely to improve the Sag's handling, so perhaps research Rota.

I emailed Team Dynamics about the original show car wheels - didn't even reply. I reckon we could guarantee an order for 100 sets of 4 from here alone, so it must be worthwhile for the manufacturer ???

Spacers, extended bolts - forget it.

Ever had the shoe shop salesman tell you they'll fit fine with a heel grip and an in-sole ?? They either fit, and hence or right, or they don't !

I do quite like those tsw's. However from the cars that I've seen with aftermarket wheels, those which have at least a small amount of dish, do seem to work a lot better.

Taken from the register here: not sure what these are but I like them!

Or something similar but with double spokes...either Rota Torque:

Or these Samurai look good value(not sure of their quality though)

However...if i had a Sag...the ultimate wheels would be some Rays.....

theres a Chimaera in the classifieds which have more kinda SLR wheels? perhaps with the caps of they look even better? they don't look bad, but on a T car I think I like the Rota's better.
