A272 Re-Surfacing - Bramdean to Winchester

Anyone thinking of a blat accross the A272 in the next couple of days should think 2wice. Just come back from Fernhurst that way and it's a mare!
Nice new tarmac being laid in Bramdean at last to fill in the holes left by the serious floods 18 months ago (and you get escorted thru the trafic lights in convoy too), but after the Cheriton turn and all the way to the A31, it's bloody awful!.
The local council have just laid that stuff where they spray the tar on the road and throw down the chippings - lots of stone's flying everywhere and muppets driving at 60mph whizzing past in the opposite direction!
Saw a nice dark blue Griff at the start of the A34/A33 though - anyone's here?
