http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOBILE-TWIN-PLATFORM-3-T...

or this, which has the advantage of being out of the way under the car when not needed, no posts to hit the door, and has decent clear access up the middle of the ramps when you do...

not the best solution for a busy full time garage, with loads of space, but for a home user with limited height anyway might be the best option??

and at £1400 its a little cheaper,

To be honest if anyone is going for a scissor type platform lift I don't think you'll go too far wrong with the Automotech one. The support Ive had when phoning them up with questions is first rate!

Still happy with the ramp??

I have a Griff and a few other cars and am thinking about ordering the AS-7530D https://www.automotechservices.co.uk/products/as-7...

I'd love one, but I suspect delivery entails just having it dumped on the drive, and there's no way I can shift it down the side of the house, down the garden and into the garage via the single door, anyone had one delivered to the actual garage if not attached to the house (and have a non tarmac covered access to that garage? Think bumpy and narrow)

It is really heavy. Think its about 600kg and the only parts that come off are the skids.

I recently moved and they tried to load it into the truck via a 500kg rated tail lift and it didn’t move an inch. Eventually it was moved using a recovery truck, winching the pallet truck up.

Strange question but couldn’t you take the ramp the same route as you drive a car into it.

I bought the AS-7532B as I could adjust the width between the lifting platforms to suit my car chassis before bolting down, it also has extra hydraulic cylinders.
I can echo others and confirm (although this model comes in 3 boxes) the platforms are very heavy.
My lift could have been dropped right next to the concrete garage base but the delivery driver was a prat and despite my protests dumped it in the middle of my gravel drive furious - I then had to use some "Stonehenge" type technology to get it into the garage.
Lift has been reliable just keep on top of greasing/oiling all the moving joints.

In theory yes of course, whether the delivery driver would do that, as highlighted by the post after yours, remains another thing.
I guess I need to ask the actual question, but from reading several posters, not only on this ramp, but on other heavy item's being dropped off, the answer even if posative from the company, would still leave me nervous as the actual driver dropping it off giving a st, dumping it on my drive at the front of the house (easy option for him) and then me having a nightmare trying to move it.

Rigga, I have recently moved and did this myself using an engine hoist and round fence posts. APITA but certainly doable as long as you have tarmac or block paving type surface-gravel would have been a no go.

Packed dirt and hardcore form the basis of the area outside my garage, so unless i could persuade a delivery driver to drive down my access path at the rear of the house, and then attempt to lower the pallet that the lift arrives on into the garage as far as possible, then its unlikely to be a goer.

It all depends on the delivery driver.

When I had my two post lift delivered from Automec, it arrived on the most enormous pallet! The truck could not get anywhere near my house so I was prepared and had a twin axle trailer on the back of my car ready to receive the lift. You would have needed a forklift truck to take it off the delivery lorry so the helpful driver used a hacksaw to undo all the steel straps so we could separate the two large steel columns of the lift and between the two of us, just about manage to manoeuver them from the delivery truck onto my trailer. We then could put all the smaller boxes easily in the trailer as well.

I must say the driver really earned his keep as he was the most useful guy you could imagine. Hats off to Automec.

I agree Peter, he did earn his money, but its pot luck which type of driver turns up, and it seems from a lot of guys experience, they are not all like yours was.
