Just located the other thread re the open day which is www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=2&f=65&t=127139&h=0

As Derek suggested, may be better if we go for a mid morning meet so say 10-10.30 in Market square??? (gives me a chance to get some photos then!)

Mind you, i may be turning up in the cav unless 'trev' is fixed

I did contact Russell from West Sussex region about us meeting up and travelling together, but as yet no reply. So it looks like we'll be making our own way there, anybody got any thoughts on a prefered route?
Also a pub stop sounds like a good idea, again, any preferences?
I'm quite happy to source a suitable watering hole if there are no suggestions.
Ed, do you fancy going point on this one?

Cheers all,

Derek

I'll have a look at the map and will sort out a good route for us to take.

I dont know the area at all so may have to play the pub by ear and see if there are any 'TVR Friendly' pubs en-route...unless of course anyone has any good suggestions!

I read another thread that suggested all the bacon butties would be gone by 10:01 hrs. If we're not departing until 10:30ish, you better have one at home before leaving!!

It could well be me, yes. I was playing out on Friday lunchtime (run over to Crawley/Austec) and yesterday afternoon (all over the county).
Nice to see some sunshine at the weekend for a change...

I was wondering if we should go a bit earlier - when we went last year the car park got full quite early on.

An earlier departure would suit me...

An earlier departure is fine by me,(less traffic, and another chance to upset the neighbours).

A little blue/green Cerby (nil cats) tells me that there will be 2 more in the Carfax. - That makes 7? or 8? - "Oh, what a beautiful noise..." lets's really wake up the neighbours!! (Manou/Vikki & Nick K).
Are we going earlier then?

Well, Mr Cuchillo wants to leave at 9am whether anyone else is with us or not!
So we will be at the Carfax at 8.45.
Autoroute reckons 54 minutes if we go up the A281 then avoid Guildford on the South West side.
So either see you in the Carfax or meet you up there!

Is this a closed little excursion? I may be up for coming over/down. Just need to work out where this carfax is and also check with the social secretary.

Morning Liz et al,

We'll be there at 8.45, for a 9am departure too then.

There is a cut-through on the A281 that avoids Guildford and takes us straight onto the hogs-back. It also goes right past David Batty's garage, so we could all pop in there for 10 minutes (if he's open!).

Hello maddog... no this is far from a closed excursion. PM me and I'll send you some directions if you like. It's very easy to find though - just off Horsham market square.

Yes unfortunately it is...its still having some running gremlins but fingers crossed it will be back today!

On the other note, 8.45 is good for me...time to wake the neighbours (as if I dont do that enough during the week

**SO 8.45 AM IN MARKET SQUARE IT IS - any probs then please let me know**

0845 it is then. Really looking forward to this now.

In the absence of any other suggestions, I'm going to suggest a venue for some lunch too - The Fox Inn on the A281 - which we'll rumble past on the outward leg. www.foxinn.co.uk/about.html
It has a decent sized car park which we're gonna need!

I am happy to take the lead and try and book some tables, if we can get a feel for how many & at what time. It's very good there (and hence very popular, so we may struggle to get in this late on - but it's worth a try).

Comments welcome!

Sorry to hear about the ongoing gremlins Ed! Finger's crossed you get it back today...
