Was posted in General Gassing a couple of weeks back, but what in the name of all that's holy is the thought process behind this....guy building "it" must be on something...and something bad.

TBF he says it's a starting point and will be very different when complete.
Good luck to him - I wish I had the know-how, skills and tools.

Also to be fair, when you start a project like this you need some sort of donor car to build on top of.

Other examples have started with either a Tam or a T350 or Tuscan as a base.

An MX5 is as good as any other - plenty of parts, proven chassis etc.

The only thought I would have is that the wheel base is too short, but I'm no expert in the area and even
if I'm right, that can be lengthened.

The proof is in the finished product.

1uzfe goes in those quite well.

Could be a neat wee package when done. Don't like the wheels though.

i think it's a cheap way of owning a sagaris. like a farrari on a mr2 chassis.

Some obviously don't or there wouldn't be any about.

Imagine how much strong cider you'd need to drink before coming up with an idea as whacky as that.

Each to ones own etc. I'm sure he's getting a kick out of the project, better then watching TV or polishing your car.

If you read the thread, he states that "I had a Sagaris body hanging around".

We all need mates like that thumbup

So then thought process, I've got a Sagaris body shell doing nothing I'll fit it to an MX5 or I'll sell it for some good money and buy something more suited to the proportions of my MX5. Even better an MX5 is a good car in its own right, sort theoriginal body and do some sensible mods.
It's his car so his decision but I just don't see the point of having what people think is a mad Sagaris when it's actually an MX5.

I wont knock him for trying, but the MX-5 is good fun because it's light. Gluing a second body on top of the first is unlikely to result in anything good.

Never promoted or built it as a replica. The car is now finished. Moulds have been taken and it is no longer sagaris. As I said from the start it's purely a basis to build something different.
