Right, first "incident" in years...

Parked at the office outside reception, I am inside talking to receptionist, (as you do), fellow parks next to me, wanders in and asks for directions.

Directions duly delivered by me to the honorable gentleman, he departs. I watch him reverse out of his space and swing too early, his front offside collects the rear nearside of my beautiful Chimaera!

Large rubber stripe from his bumper, (about a foot, you'd think he would have felt it when he first collected and stopped, but no, must keep going). As well as the deposited rubber, he has ripped a few scratches into the gelcoat...

So, careful application of a bit of T-Cut removed the ruber marks beautifully, but I need to have the paint touched up.

Help please, I need your assistance in finding a suitably professional establishment who I can entrust my car to for the touch up. Preferably located near Sunbury or Walton...

q405mb,
I had a minor incident + respray on a front wing a few months back. I ended up getting the work done by brother-in-law of a friend from work who happend to be on the same track day as said incident occured at. The brother-in-law luckily runs a paint shop.

Anyway, it was a pretty good job and a reasonable price, but the guy is down in Kent so a bit of a way to travel.

I'm in Walton so if you want to inspect then let me know.

I think someone on PH has recommended a place in Guilford.

Aitch!!

That's horrible! If I had been the 'victim', there's no telling what I would have done.

I hope you find a reputable outfit to repair your fabulous car. Keep us informed.

The people who seem to come highly recommended on here are Tom Horsburgh, near Farnham (does Adrian Blyth's cars), Tel (01428) 608255 , or Bee Gees at Chessington, tel 020 8397 6080. Never tried them myself but will be giving them a call when it's respray time for the Chimaera.
Cheers,
Alex.

Tom Horsburgh resprayed my Griff - full respray. Top job. All he does is GRP. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Was thinking - do you think you could mount a couple of 405s in the boot?

Harrigan,

Sorry to hear of your trouble. Did you get the guy before he drove off, or his no. at least?

Sure you can take it to one of the guys mentioned below and get it sorted. Hello to TivHead too!

Hi Mike,

Yes, he was very straight, stopped immediately and came in to say what he had done...

No bodywork damage at all, just the gelcoat, lucky, methinks.
