I know probably the majority of TVR owners have a second car as an everyday workhorse, just wondering what they were?? are you always pining(sp?) after the beast when your driving the lamb??

1.2 Nova Merit (No modifications!) or a Rover 214 GSi - bangernomics makes the Griffith affordable.

Wife's MGF or my VW Passat– a very reliable German xeperience tho' it pains me to say it!

If it's nice and in the village, I'll get me mountain bike out!

Do bikes count too? Mine's a Triumph 955i Speed Triple. It'll accellerate quicker than my Griff and I commute to Central London in it.

Rover 220GSi, but soon to be booted out as the insurance is too high (£800) it's only a 2.0 so figure that one?

Bit stuck as what to get as a sensible runaround - I dont normally do sensible

Porsche 911 SC 1981.
It's 21 years old but it is still an excellent drivers car. I have owned it for 8 years, and it has proved to be extremely reliable as an everyday car.

The weekend car is my Cerbera.
Simply fantastic!!!!!!!!

1993 BMW 730iV8. Represents everything that the Griffith does not! Pretty much an ideal combination, I think.

Pug 205 GLD - recent acquisition
One owner, garaged all it's life and still cost less than a TVR major service.

Yes it's ugly. Yes it's slow. But it's also comfortable, sips fuel like it's going out of fashion, it's now got a decent stereo and I can drive it flat out... All the time...

Mostly my second car ar been sold four months ago

But it was a 1994 BMW 730i - again complete opposite to the Chimaera, and a welcome armchair on wheels at times. Mind you, I didn't really drive it much after buying the tiv. Hey ho.

My second car is a Audi S3 not bad as a second car but the Tiv is in another ball park.

Why do you need a second car? I bough my Chim a year ago as a weekend fun car, but realised on the way home from the dealer that it should be driven every day. It still took me a few months to pluck up the courage to sell my Mondeo, but in the end I did. A tiv is a way of life - you know it makes sence.

Hmm, a rover 630si: a barge of a car and very soggy to drive, but I can get a load of grass cuttings in it for the dump and five adults, so it does the trick. My other half has a Rover Metro, which is soon to be a Lotus Elise if she can get her way.

I'm not a believer in only bringing them out at weekends - life's just too short.

I use my Cerbera as my main daily car. I have a Healey 3000 which I used to drive as a daily car for about 3 years - that now gets used about 2-3 days a week (it's also good for lugging oversize planks of wood from the salvage reclamation yard ... oh, and oversized Christmas trees!

In my own time, only the 390SE will do.
On company time (which, let's face it, is most of it! it's a white Vauxhall Combo van, 1.7 dog-slow diesel, plastered with the letters NDT.
However, it does have a Pistonheads flag (with a TVR logo across the middle) in the rear window , so if you see me on the highways and byways, give me a nod. It'll probably be hours before I get home.....

I ditched my Cerby a while back but I've never recovered from the loss. Indeed, on the day of it's departure I filmed my last few hours both inside and outside, includng a final blast over local blacktop.
The most gut-wrenching bit is with the camera, with me in the driving seat, facing that totally unique binnacled fascia that all Cerb-heads love, just crying with longing as the revs just fly up and down, accompanied by the addictive bark of that mesmering crank and wondrous, explosive exhaust.
Chaps, just remember you all own what is quite simply one of THE most charismatic automotive creations there is. I just wanted to share that with you!
Just get them decatted and go straight through the gates of motoring Nirvana...

Matthew, I sold my S3 for the Tuscan... i loved it! Wish i could have afforded to run it as a 2nd car!!
