Shipped my first Tuscan back to the UK from Germany only 2 weeks after joining.
Shipped it back again 2 years later asking "do you want it sending back to the same Garage Mr Jones" ?

Shipped my second Tuscan back from southern France 3 years ago.
What added to my comfort on that occasion was the attitude of the French recovery guy. He was so please that I was with the ADAC, (like he knew he would get paid).

The ADAC are truly excellent thumbup

Crikey, seems like I should get an "introducing customers" discount.

I'd seen on the TVRCC website that ADAC were no longer offering cover to non-German residents. That was incorrect. I called the number on my 1st post and spoke to this gorgeous-sounding girl (I was putty in her hands by then) so signed up for a credit card transaction there and then.

Clive, I believe they sub' out all the UK work to the AA, I will get an info' pack in due course listing all the necessary contact numbers. Yes, you are covered anywhere in Europe. This beats the RAC where last time I was with them I paid £150 for a years UK and Europe cover.

All I was thinking when I was reading that was "don't buy a Tuscan, don't buy a Tuscan!"

Yes, I saw that (in my thread) that's why I hadn't contacted them until now.

I dropped Petra an email yesterday, she sent me the form, I returned it completed along with my card details and that was that. Job done.

I didn't bother ringing them.

NO, not saying reliability issues at all......

First time, my newly rebuilt engine threw a shim. ADAC shipped her back to Jason at Straight6 completely free.
Second time was after an accident. ADAC shipped her back to Cheshire.
Third was when the ECU went on my Mk2 Tuscan. ADAC Shipped her back to Cheshire again.

Each time they have offered hotel rooms, rental car etc., and when underway, kept me updated on delivery status.

Sorry to worry you smile.
Its like when someone came on here and asked for advise on driving on the continent.
My answer was, "dont worry, its easy, being driving regularly in Europe the last 18 years and only crashed 3 times". laugh

With the ADAC you also get Discounts, 1 Cent per litre at Shell garages in Germany, 1€ off a meal in Burger King, & 10% off in some motorway Service Areas, just have to Show your Card. Shell will offer Points or Discount (punkt oder rabatt) I have never looked in to the Points so not sure what you get.

Another ADAC member (since 1988) and only got good things to say about them. I broke down in Spain in a TVR I had just bought there on a Friday afternoon. RACC (Spanish AA/RAC) we're on strike, so I thought I was stuck there for the weekend, but called ADAC (in Germany) and they found and arranged for a local Spanish mechanic, who turned up, couldn't speak German or English, but he got my car going.

Keep in mind that should you have problems with ADAC then you will have to deal with them in the German Courts as the policy is underwritten by a German insurance company. You do not have that potential problem should your contract be with a contract formed in England & Wales. I was going to sign up with them in the summer but back then they would only disclose their terms and conditions after you had purchased the policy.

They let me down badly.
There are others on here that have had bad experiences.

To be told 'if you are English, you should use RAC' did not go down well.

If its wasn't for a helpful Brit, I'd have been well into four figures out of pocket.

Absolute s.
Never again.

Why? Seeing as I, and a few others, have just spent money with them, we would appreciate some more information.

I'll dig out thread next time I'm on the PC and post it.

I was probably more disappointed as they have such a good reputation.

Just phoned this morning and got passed to 3 different agents.

First said "ok to join if resident in UK"
Last one said "Not possible, go to the AA!"

Very confusedconfused
