Hi, I am new to PistonHeads, and the forums smile
I have a keen interest in TVR cars and I am currently looking for a book about TVR's, preferably one that covers most of their cars. If anybody could tell me any good TVR books, and where to get them, that would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks smile

The best two books by far are by Peter Filby. The Early Years and A Passion to Succeed. Not cheap but well worth it. There is also Peter's original book Success against the odds, from the 70's. A collector's item that will set you back well over £100.

If you find an original one for £100 buy it, the last one I saw on Ebay went for over $400 and someone being a little ambitious on Amazon here CLICKYyikes

Cool, I've got that one, it's a good book.

there's a picture of my old Tuscan in it too! The light blue one on the pages about the TVR memorial rally in London (wasn't mine at the time)..

I will have to have a good look around eBay etc, though £100 does seem a lot of money...

wow, pricey! Unfortunately, I don't have that much money wink I would buy it if I could! There is a Haynes book advertised underneath it though, TVR Ever the extrovert, does anyone know if that's any good?

Don't know the first book but I nearly lost the will to live reading the John Tipler book. It might be accurate but his style of writing made such an exciting marque sound so dull.

No and I don't really think it would be worth that kind of money. Ever the Extrovert is quite good with some good pictures in it I hadn't seen but be warned it's inaccurate in some places.

ah right, I don't want to read inaccurate or wrong facts smile I suppose that's what you get for the money though!

All the books have something different to offer in both information and history I have slowly collected them all even a rare copy of success against the odds thanks to a good friend however there is things in all that contradict the other but mostly spot on and great reads.
Peter Filbys books are fantastic with the later two having some fantastic images well worth the Money

This thread has spurred me on to buying a second copy of Peter Filbeys 'The Early Years' as the 1st one I purchased in 2010, signed at 'The Rumble In The Jungle' has gone astray.
