I just wanted to write a quick post in appreciation of the great work these to companies do. Both have them have made a fairly substantial contribution to sorting out my Tamora.

Dom at TVR Power went way above and beyond the call of duty when the throttle cable snapped about 30 miles after picking my car up (not from him!). He sorted me a courtesy car out late in the evening then had the car back on the road by 1100 the following day having done the replaced the cable, fixed the linkage on the pedal bar and wet gauged the engines oil pressure to put my mind at rest. A mine of useful advice and a throughly nice bloke.

I have just got the car back for Dave Batty at The Garage who serviced it and did some other minor bits and pieces on it. Dave looked after the previous Chim I owned so I expected the top notch service I received from him but it was still refreshing to deal with someone who is up front and honest about the way they treat their customers. As ever a pleasure to deal with and another mine of useful advice in the TVR community.

Good customer service is hard to come by these days, thanks chaps!

I have not had occasion to use Dom, but your comment on Dave (and his son) is entirely consistent with my experience of his work on my car over the past 5 years.
If only all garages were like this.

I can recommend Dom and Dave Batty as well. I also use Andy at APM and more recently TVR101 in Bentley near Farnham. They went above and beyond with my car. Really pleased.

I had my 4.6 re built by Dom, went way over including fixing my heater blower, re painting rocker boxes and heater pipes, inlet manifold, I coud go on,,, not a penny more than we'd agreed, I've often gone to him especially in my early days of ownership in some panic or other over a dodgy gauge reading or a lamp flickering out and I like his can fix anything attitude,,,,,
And he has bloody every component for your car hidden there somewhere,
Top class bloke with some good guys working for him.

About 2 odd years ago I had a great long chat with Dom re my Griff and TVRs on the phone. He was very helpful despite being very busy. Highly impressed and all my parts are bought from him.

David Batty, a gentleman as always, a very talented mechanic and all without a hint of rip off. Always happy to recommend him.

Dom has done a lot of work on my Tamora, too. It seems like a different car since I bought a sorry looking Tam for £16k a year and a half ago.

I picked it up from its post run in service, and I asked for a few other things to be sorted too. When Dom checked the invoice, he took off over £100, as he said there's no way it cost an hours labour to adjust my handbrake (They also took apart my rear brakes and cleaned them). he also took off the labour for changing my power steering pump brackets.

On top of all that, my little Tam is now in much better fettle than perhaps when it was brand new!

For major stuff, I wouldn't take it anywhere else.

Hey Chris, having read with great interest your thread regarding the work Dom was doing on your car and as I'd been through the same fear and then ultimate joy at the thing being top class it's great to hear your happy with it, I have no doubt my car and engine is better balanced than when new, better mechanicals in the engine and when I confessed to Dom I'd want to drive it pretty hard on track days he said so what, it won't break,,, I had a look of disbelief so be carried on and said if it blows up he'd re build it,,, you can't say fairer than that,,

I've done two track days and hardly thrashed it and it's so smooth I don't really want to, I'm very happy with it.
I'm due a service as part of the warranty and really I can't wait, it's good to get a good check over whilst they do the work, they know what to look for,, piece of mind, worth every penny.

I can't imagine owning a Tvr without companies like Powers to support the mark.
There's plenty of great people involved in the Tvr world who frankly keep us going.

A few years ago Dom sold me a part that was NLA, and probably the last in the country, the only other option would have been trying to find the part at a scrappy, and that could have easily taken years

I also had some work done by David and/or his son, as I needed new bushes fitted to some suspension arms, great guys to deal with

It's sad that The Garage has closed, and it was quite weird to be contacted by presumably a different David Batty to purchase a speed sensor from my classified ad
