The purple theme is interesting. When I specced my first TVR in 1992/3 I wanted a metallic purple. They said that they'd not done one before so if I provided them with a sample they'd try to match it though I should be careful as it might be hard trying to sell such an unusual colour later. I found a good colour used by Kawasaki, so bought a front mudguard in the appropriate shade and sent it to Blackpool. They did a brilliant job matching it (despite bikes using an entirely different sort of paint) and it looked brilliant. 3 years later it was not a problem to sell, TVR had practically adopted purple as a corporate colour and there were various purple TVRs out there which whatever shade look pretty good in my opinion. . . .

Peter Wheeler era TVR - purple, most definitely.

Not that this should keep you from having your TVR painted any colour you like...

What flavour Tiv are we talking about, the Cerb in OP's profile?
FWIW I'd say anything BUT green, especially if you're considering resale value. If it's a 'keeper' then go for it.
Saw your old Griff at Silverstone at the weekend.
Still green.

Loud pipes and a loud paint job ............ Perhaps yellow ............ A TVR should be irreverent and politically incorrect that's why I sold my 997 and bought one !!
Have to agree with that whole heartedly.
Bright and in your (their) face smile

Rosso pearl, cherry and candy apple or similar were my favourites when looking, but one purple car did catch my eye as well.

In the end I bought 'the bright red one' (rosso) because, as everyone knows, the red ones are faster biggrin

If you base a Marks traditional colour based on there team colours then white and red from there early years
Obviously most early TVRs where raced by private individuals so whatever colour they bought or liked but works cars seemed to be white with red and white stripes
