Griffith Sump Removal

Does anyone have experience of having their Griff/Chimera up on a ramp and removing the sump cover?

Does oil leak down on your head, requiring you to plug up the leaking areas temporarily with paper tissue?

I only ask as I am currently in litigation and need to understand how a garage could mistakenly leave tissue paper in the sump.

No more than usual. You get a few drips, but that's to be expected...

After talking to a TVR technician, it appears that mechanics would put tissue paper in the oil pickup while they were working to stop oil dripping out and then whip it out just before the sump cover goes on. Works fine, as long as you remember to take it out again. My new engine arrives in two weeks.
