Chim or s should be fine so long as it's a good one and you can stop yourself modding it. I say this as I use my s daily for a short commute but she has been away for engine swap recently luckily I have alternate means of getting to work so not a prob. Also when it's snowy I tend to leave at home but drive all other days.

V8 fuel economy could be an issue I suppose also if the chassis on your new purchase is gone a body off will take upto 3 months depending who does it. Maybe longer..

That said I love driving mine (but it's not for everyone) it really takes Monday blues away. Your work colleagues will take the piss mind esp if it ever fails on you and any 20yo car can do this good servicing and maintenance is the key here.

Parts typically not hard to find or expencive you will be best off using a recommended specialist IMHO let then source parts etc

Cheers

Depends on your mileage. Relatively low mileage and not all town driving, and a Chimaera or an S is your friend. As the previous poster said, expect fuel consumption to be modest - having said which, buy an old 4 litre Lexus LS saloon and you will get 26-27 to the gallon so long as it's not all town. A 4 litre Chimaera will be pretty similar, but then so will a Saab Aero, or a Petrol 5 or 7 series.....

If the mileage is relatively low, then fuel consumption won't be bothering you as you will be in such a fantastic mood every day. yes

These cars benefit from being driven regularly. I drive mine three/four times a week, have done 21,000 miles in two years, and it has let me down once in all that time (failed main fuse). Same as my Vorsprung that I use as a daily driver - one breakdown in 21.000 miles.

BUT - the Audi (diesel) has been serviced once in that 21,000 miles. The TVR three times and another service is due soon, and each service on each car is around the £300-500 level.
