Dereck why have you not put a sequential in your car yet?It would wipe off a few more 10ths this should add some food for thought................

Don't go for mine in the video , consider going for a Drenth much cheaper and can be found second hand quite easily

Derek btw. smile
Would love a sequential. Are they 6 speed? What sort of ball park figure we talking? Easy enough to fit behind the RV8 and in the Chim?

Apologies if I'm wrong but was just going by your profile.

I can only see a Cerbera with a LS3 engine in it.....

Not really a TVR any more is it.

Did the factory ever sell any? to say you have the fastest TVR in the world is a bit rich when its got a completely different power plant.

Is there a standard TVR? I doubt it, and all the better for it.

They are 6 speed but I guess you could get an older 5 speed as they would be cheaper again. Piece of cake to fit to a chim .Elite are another cheap box but for circuit racing they are not reliable if you budgeted for £5k in that ball park but don't forget that they have a good resale value at the end when you have finished with it. Competition get one from the ads is stiff as they are perfect for the rally boys in the Escort , GTI.

This bloke already does boxes for drag racing by the looks but probably deals in second hand................

all the usual sites for circuit racing will have boxes for sale soon as season is coming to an end

What are these sequential boxes like day to day? I use my Chim as normal most of the time. Go on cruises, car meets, take it to the shops now and then...

SO LOUD ITS A SHAME

sorry was I shouting wink

honestly the gear whine of a straight cut box inside the car is an immense noise

not a viable proposition for a DD unless you like wearing ear defenders

S B's obviate the chance of any meaningful conversation taking place with your passengers. (not always a bad thing...) Can also be a bit counter intuitive at times to use, but OK if you leave plenty of space from the car infront. Your guaranteed a TVR smile though!

Out of interest the CS12 would not be a suitable car for 1/4 mile runs etc. It is designed for a rolling start. The lesser powered Aston engined version might be worth a go. Not sure what tyres would work or even what is available as not exactly regular sizes.

Thanks for the support. I have extrapolated this run was actually quite possibly almost certainly a 10.8 smile

Sub 8 might be a while away. I do have a cunning plan to break the 9s tho wink
Ah, you must be thinking of a Baldrick Shifter biggrin

Or a RATO pack? scratchchin

In the interim, I've got a blue wig you're welcome to borrow if you like.
Much faster than green, as everyone knows wink

Not a TVR, but I remember back around 1976/7/8, a guy by the name of Sammy Miller had a rocket dragster called Oxygen and did 0-400 mph in 3.79 secs. if my memory serves me.
But this was possibly over a longer distance than the 1/4 mile.
It ran on hydrogen peroxide; as did his other machine, a Funny Car called Vanishing Point.
I believe he suffered from some problems like a detached retina & a bit of a headache afterwards, but to me those times were awesome & would take some beating even today.

Edit: just googled, he still holds the world's fastest ET of 3.58 seconds for the standing 1/4 mile which he set at Santa Pod in 1984 in 'Oxygen'. His speed was "in excess of 300mph" at the finish line.
He came to the UK because the US NHRDA banned him over there. Health & Safety you know.
Ironic that he died in an accident at work in the oil industry.

Was at Santa Pod when Sammy Miller did the run in Vanishing Point.
It's the only time I've ever been there.
