Oulton Park Track Day ... Sat 3 Aug
Discussion
thankfully it was a small accident .. cerbie overtaking ian bannister's vixen, bloke puts hand out of window to say thanx, loses it into old hall, backawards onto grass, not going very quickly and just reaches the tyre wall with offside rear corner of car, rolls up tyres and tips onto side. just when you think it's going to stay there it flops onto it's roof. marshalls put it back onto 4 wheels, bloke starts it up and as far as I know drove it home like that!.. certainly dissappeared from the circuit quickly. daft thing is if the tyres were just 3 feet further back it would never have tipped over. the driver and passenger would have been very unlucky to have been hurt, it all happened so slowly.
Hi Jools - thanks for your patience while I tried to fix the bloody wipers!
Re CIRKS 450 - I let him past in the last yellow session and couldn't believe how quickly he pulled away (it was my first time on a track with hills and I was more than a bit scared).
On the way home there was a bloke in a white astra laughing at me - recognised him as the one which passed the cerby (when my wife was driving it, honest) on the track - I suppose he's gonna tell all his mates the astra's quicker than a cerbera down the start finish straight!!!
Glad to get home in one piece. G.

I wasn't at the track day, but I do remember there being a white astra bombing around at last year's track day - he wasn't slow! Same guy?
I shot some video in-car and from the pit wall. Plan to put some of the in-car stuff on-line today but the footage I was going to upload doesn't have your car in it. I think I've some shots of a blue wedge though, but I don't know if it was a 350/400 or whatever but it had a wing in the back. Yours? Let me know your reg and I'll have a trawl through.
