Just a quick hello to you all as I've put a deposit down on a 500 Chim today. It joins my Elise 111r and Fiesta ST3 daily driver.

I've heard we only have 53 years of petrol left on earth so I may as we'll use my fair share now!!

Just waiting for the seller to MOT it and slap some tax on and I'm away. I may be asking for advice on a fitter/supplier of carpet sets as that's the only area of the car that needs at week in the short term.

I look forwards to seeing some of you around the Northwest.

Simon.

No, the actual carpets covering the inside of the car. The outside has had a respray, the underneath has had a chassis refurb but the interior just needs a tweek.

It's not a mess but I wondered about pre cut interior you can DIY in. I live in Northwich but work in Stockport if anywhere springs to mind near either of these places.

I put a set of carpets from Coverdale in mine early this year. By the time I had stripped everything out and then replaced it all after fitting it, It would have been better to have had it all done by a company that fits a bespoke set. It is quite a lot of hassle!!

Too true. lf you want the satisfaction of doing it yourself then fair enough. l think its about 400quid for a full set. l paid 600 for a professional to do it, and get it alot neater than l ever could. They have the correct tools and knowledge, we are a jack of all trades and masters at none !!;)

Did you get it then? You do know if the carpets are just faded you can re dye them in situ and save a fortune.

Yup, got it and have drove it to work and back today. Still feeling my way, quite a thing!

I think for now I'll live with the carpets and perhaps get some silicon hoses and silicon smooth induction pipes.

And so it begins!!!

I just want to give it a good polish now :-)

Watson here, Holmes.

Do I deduce that you, a new owner, are unaware of the first and most important rule of Pistonheads??

Ill sort that once I've got it cleaned up.
