Oh Dolly,Oh Dolly
Discussion
I have bought a set of these very well made dolly's . Am I the only one who thinks they are a waste of time & money or am I not getting something . I bought them thinking I would be able to push my cars around like slippery eels in the east end. I have a polished garage floor and do you think I can push the car forward or backwards on my own on them, let alone spin them around to any position I want.................not. The wheels don't exactly swivel round when you have 1200kg on them.Does any one else have these problems or am I missing the point of them.I am pretty disappointed in my purchase so far as it seams you need at least two people to manoeuvre a car about.
They do work. As long as the purchase was a quality product. With the less expensive versions, the weight placed upon them can cause the metal mount that the wheel is bolted to to bend down toward the weighted area. Once the mount is angled it makes the wheels very difficult to swivel and point in the direction you want to travel.
As mentioned earlier, the casters look a smidge inferior to the task.
A friend of mine has welded some metal bars across the top of the caster mounts to keep them aligned when used under very heavy cars.

Have any of the casters got brakes?
they look like pretty basic casters, no bearings in axle or swivel?
LOL brakes, I will have a go at greasing them as they are solid metal castors with axle so may need a lube to kick off with. I bought them from a company someone on here recommended some time ago. Here you go I bought the four wheels set.they look like pretty basic casters, no bearings in axle or swivel?
