Thanks FFG I shall do that, sounds good
If you have gone to the trouble of a full chassis strip and body off.. would you not be better off following your heart and having a proper powder coating job undertaken?
A chassis re-furb is only as good as the blasting and 1st coat. after blasting oxidation happens as quickly as 20 minutes..

For the extra 2 or 300 quid I know what I would be doing.

I don't know how many times I've changed my mind and last week I was back to powder coating which I have no doubt is 100 times better than TVR did and these have lasted around 15 years but I just always come back to the fact that once the powder coat is damaged and cracked there is no real way of repair but with these paints is hopefully a case of rub down and repaint a section

I went for both approaches together. Decided to have the chassis and wishbones totally stripped and blasted, then topped with a few coats of the POR Hardnose 2 Pack Paint.

Overkill ? Most probably. But I see the paint as sacrificial. If that can take most (hopefully all) of the sting out of a stone being flicked up and thus protect the powdercoating/chassis underneath then I'm happy. If it does chip the paint then its just a simple touch up afterwards.

Cleaned the powdercoating down with spirits to make sure it was totally clean and then slapped the paint straight on. So far it seems to have stuck like 'you know what' to a blanket. Not driven the car yet as just completed a body off refurb so I've no idea how it will actually perform under real driving conditions.

Just wanted to make sure I could try and avoid any potential rust issues in the future.

Powdercoated finish

Don't ever try to compare TVR factory powder coating with Proper powder coating. I have hit sampled pieces with a hammer and cannot get it to flake..A proper 2 stage blast, zinc and colour coat will outlast you never mind the car and more importantly will significantly add value to the car because of the finish.
As I said. Bill at Bettablast, Blasted, zinc'd and top coated all under one roof.

You can also repair proper powder coat by feathering back and painting with Rustoleum combo colour. i do this regularly on my 45 year old race car chassis !! How long do you want chassis to last wink
