OP - Just be aware that there are rebuilds and rebuilds. You want to see evidence of a rebuild, and if lucky a warranty, from Powers Performance (aka TVR Power), Str8Six or Racing Green. These guys provide a full solution to the original engine woes.
It's cheaper to buy one with a rebuild than think you will just put some money by. A full rebuild costs a big chunk of money.
And as has been mentioned, there's no rush.

Would be a Griffith for me, at £18k. You'd get quite a tidy one for that, and probably spend half on running costs compared with a S6 or similar.
Granted the S6 will give more thrills, but the Griffith 500 can still cut the mustard and the value of them is appreciating faster than most of the other models.

Interesting thread.
I am also in the same boat budget wise and my first choice is the Tamora. I would consider a Tuscan though depending on the test drive. No interest in the V8. Been there, done that.
Coming from a 911, 997 C2 I know the woes of potential engine rebuilds hovering over your head. The best advice i received in the Porsche world is buy on condition and i've always applied that logic across all cars to avoid dogs.
Having said that, engine rebuild evidence from a reputable specialist will be a strong attraction for me for peace of mind.

I did consider a Tamora but I couldn't find any in my budget. Well, there was one that was just above my budget at James Agger but it had a purple (!?!!) interior. Not something I could live with.I am also in the same boat budget wise and my first choice is the Tamora. I would consider a Tuscan though depending on the test drive. No interest in the V8. I have bought a car now. People will probably say that i jumped in too quick but this car came up, was just down the road, was a good price and Rob Ingleby said it was an excellent buy.
A car cover, a wax oil and a service and I will be sailing.
I am at work so I can't post pictures, a thread is here! http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
