I need to buy a mk1 Tuscan service bonnet & T.E.T have them at £300 & one week to make which seems bloody good to me! My only concern is if it will fit properly with my car being a very early one. Small adjustments I can cope with. Has anyone used their services before??

I haven't used them but would add that my one from fibreon looked a fair fit at first but it has sagged in the middle over the course of a year and so now the edges sit proud of the wings, very odd but not sure how you would check this if you're having one made up as it seems to be time related!

Do the tet ones have metal or reinforced pivot points as the factory ones can break so would be worth a minor upgrade whilst you're doing it!

Indeed the factory ones can break, the very reason I need a new one as mine failed nearside front and flew off over the top of the car. Not sure if the TET ones are strengthened but I will ask before ordering. The chap who owns it worked at the factory for some 15 years & made the very first accident repair moulds for Tasmins etc to save them from having to replace the whole front end of the car. He left before the T car era but apparently have never had one complaint... according to their website...

Trevor is the VERY BEST that there is, IF you need assurances just pick the phone up and speak him.
To the point that I bought moulds for classic TVR items off him 20 years ago and I'm still creating items out of them today.

I've seen a fair bit of trevors work, had a few parts and a mould, and I'd say its very good.

I bought a TET front end, both bonnets and front splitter for my Tuscan S years ago, there were no problems fitting it as it married up perfectly,
I actually let out a little chuckle when we first lifted it into place, that`s how well it fitted.
just pure luck I guess but it made it easier, the bonnets needed slight fettling but it was good for a raw moulding and importantly the front bonnet hinge bolts lined up perfectly also,it was fractionally thicker than the TVR shell.
I have used Fibreon in the past and the bonnet I got was one of the first from that particular mould,I had a little difficulty with it in lining up the lock down pins at the rear as the threaded inserts were slightly skewed but it required little else.
I have done numerous composite stuff from an RS 200,Corvetes(lots),TVR`s,the odd lotusold yank stuff, boats, oddball stuff and the older stuff like all the earlier Shelby mouldings like doors, spoilers, wings etc.were very nice, but the Corvette stuff early and late, original or copied was ste and the stuff we got for the Rs 200 aand later cars was rubbish in coparison for the stuff I have seen available for TVR,
Or I have been very fortunate.
This was first fit.
