It's progressing.

Check out the"What did you do in the garage yesterday" last page.

For those TVR Chim/Griff/S owners with standard 2.5 inch tail pipes, loud exhaust and no bolt on cans, I do have a spare pair of cans and will bring them with me to Brands if you need to use them. I think its 105dB, so should only be a problem to the noisiest among us. Just email me if you need them. I suspect Cerberas have a bigger bore pipe.

Same goes for my spare set of track tyres (4 stud Chim/Grief/S fitting). I won't be bringing them unless someone needs them.

I wont be able to partake, but would be nice to meet a few other Tiv owners, so might pop down in the Cerb (it'll need the running in miles too!)

Can none participants access the paddock at Brands?

Yes, at every other Javelin/MSV track day I have ever been to. Cannot see why Brands would be different.

Free just to watch/chat/spanner/polish/fetch the coffees/laugh at others bad driving.

Passenger pass for the entire day £5 (plus £10 to hire a helmet if you haven't brought one with you). If you have a fairly average bloke sized head (59-62 cm measured horizontally around the head just above the eyebrows) I may be able to lend you one, as I have a couple of spares.

If you can persuade anyone to let you drive their car, it costs £20 for the additional driver day pass and you have to attend a driver's briefing. And a further £15,000+ when you write it off on the Armco eek (normal road insurance doesn't cover the cars on track).

If you hope to get out on the track as driver or passenger wear long sleeves and long trousers, not that you would be in beachwear in December.

Oh but you MUST!
Add the long blonde wig and false eyelashes, and you will be fine.
We'll get Peter's daughter along as style guru and driving instructor, as you will need to be shown how to heel 'n' toe in stilettos..........

I can feel a sudden bout of illness coming on and it may lead to being off work on the 2nd and wandering up with my chim and camera gear (will try not to park anywhere to distracting graham)..

do you know if brands will be doing its normal £5-£10 for a trackside photographers tabard as i may have a wander and take some action snaps smile

Survival hint - never ask a woman "when is it due?" unless you are 100% certain she is pregnant. Fat ladies don't use anaesthetics when performing surgery below the belt.....weeping

I am thinking of popping down for a bit on Tuesday and may be bringing a mate, if I do would some of you mind taking him out as a passenger?

He is in the middle of a chemo session and it has woken him up to realise there are some things he wants to try while he can, track days are one he thinks he wants to do and would like to try out before he buys a car.

Cheers
Gruf.

Well, pretty much all set to go.

Geo done and engine has the all new "lower" horsepower cam..........

Ah well, more winter work.

let's hope that the weather won't be too bad although I usually enjoy a wet day if it's consistent.

It all goes Pete Tong when you are looking for dry patches amongst wet and are pushing on!
